Dude, if you think I dont wish for the best for our team, your are a crazy person. If you think that I expect a team of origin stars, you are a slightly less crazy person. Every game, I'm going mental and hoping for the win. If Mary ends up being the next Hasler, and Doust suddenly becomes a super businessman and the club gets launched suddenly into the new era of the NRL, I'll be ecstatic! Dont get get realism or cynicism mixed up with loss of love for my team.
The fact simply is that I cant see any of those things happening. What we have is a weaker team than last year. We have a rookie coach who showed no improvement when he took over last year, with no credentials or reason to believe he can succeed other than 'hes a straight shooter'. To back him up, we have 2 rookie assistant coaches with 0 top grade games betwen them, plus a bloke whos recent achievements include being sacked by his last club for being too aggressive with his players.
Above that, we have a CEO and board who made these ridiculous decisions despite a history of failure is these departments and despite a number of experienced and successful options being available. Tje same CEO who has mismanaged our salary cap, pushed our best player out the door and signed nuffie after nuffie to long term, high pay deals. We have a shell of a leagues club and while the better clubs are out there creating corporate partnerships and building third party agreements, we have nothing.
So again, those saying 'have faith, 2015 will be a better year, we will improve, blah blah f**king blah' have there heads in the sand, they are failing or refusing to see the writing on the wall. Call it negativity if you want, but its real and its happening right before your eyes.
