Well said Colonel!

I've always said in this game you must take the good with the bad.

Personally I can't wait for those really cold Saturday nights when the boys play in front of 5K or so at home and no-one gives them the faintest of chances and they come out and surprise everyone.

The 5K are "THE TRUE BLEEDERS" and the ones who will really appreciate the good times because they stuck by their team during the bad times.

Yeah well I've been "bleedin" for 30 years and I think I might need a transfusion.

I thought we were trying.

The results don't look so bad now.

It is unfair to judge the coach after only 6 rounds, but quite acceptable for him to throw in the towel at that time.

No more sacred cows.

 Yes there is a good reason why the Parra Blood Bank are always seeking new donars!!
why do they want Fui?

As many have already said we'll give the coach some time but the one thing we can judge him on is team selections and bench use, and from my pov he has been below average so far. Not a great start.

Anyone with half a brain, given who we have released, chosen not to re-sign and passed by would have an idea that the club is going through a rebuilding phase. I'm certainly not happy about it but anyone thinking we were a top eight threat this season is slightly delusional..... we are considerably under the cap with little to no depth and we are playing with a halfback that would be lucky to get a run at any other club.

Am I concerned about the team selections? Too f**king right. Though I am realistic - have you had a look at our NSW Cup side? Outside of Walker, there aren't too many players that I'd be happy to see in first grade at the moment. Our NYC side is young, very young and outside of injury don't really see any of the backrowers who I believe have some decent potential will get a run before the end of the season.

Unfortunately, we will have to put up with the excuses and while I am concerned at the lack of any apparent interest outside of Chris Sandow (of which I am hoping is a furphy to throw the media off the scent) I wait impatiently.

Do I suggest we all sit back and wait? No. Unlikely that a good many would listen as whinging comes far too easily. I'm prone to it myself.
fair enough about going through a rebuilding stage but at the moment we are in a holding pattern, waiting for things to happen. Until we sign a decent half and build the team around him, we are going nowhere. Next year (if we sign somebody) it will be "don't expect things to happen instantly, they need time to jell together."

Realistically we are at least 2 years away from being at the top, and in that time players like Hindy and Burt will be pretty close to the end.

What worries me most about SK, is his use of the bench. He comes across as still very much learning his trade and his inexperience is hurting us. What we probably needed at this time was an experienced coach in charge.

I wonder what Sharp brings to us, not knowing his role, I would have expected him to add experience but can not see that influence over the last couple of years.

You are setting your standards too high.

You want to go past round 6 before your coach gives up? What do you think this is ? A professional sporting outfit with a competitive streak?

People here will put you right.

I thought everyone already knew coming into 2011 that this was going to be purely a rebuilding/sh*t year.

Why are people complaining now? I said this before, but surely people didn't expect success in 2011...lol.

The club did try to go after every bloody decent halfback last year, they even went for Quade who doesn't even play RL.

You're too caught up in thinking that Parra will miraculously become the same dominant side in the early-mid 80s. They won't, at least try to be realistic rather than convincing yourself everything is a lame excuse.

He's officially coached 6 first grade games now. Did you expect miracles and instant success? Of course the club needs an experienced coach, you could say that for just about every club in the NRL, but ultimately the club decided to take the gamble on Mooks, I'm still skeptical at the decision but I refuse to write him off on the back of a horrible first year, you don't become a Bennett overnight...But you knew that right?

not quite true but they did try to go after a few players even if already on contract. So, if we were so unsuccessful last year , how are we going to go better this year?

I think you have me mixed up with the board, they are the only ones talking about bringing back the '80s.
What I was saying is there is no sign of any rebuilding yet.

once again, he was sold to us as being a "world cup winning coach", he has now had more time with our squad than he had with the kiwis but doesn't appear to be moulding us into anything yet. Remember we payed out an experienced coach to rush him in. The lack of success and direction was used as an excuse. We are yet to see any improvement in either.

As Pou Pou said before, if someone is off contract, then the club can definitely get them(minus a few loyal bastards), Parra are so far under the cap that it'd be pretty piss poor to not be able to sign anyone. But I won't blame the coach if the club misses out on getting a quality halfback, if people don't want to come to Parra, what could Mooks possibly do?

I think you have me mixed up with the board, they are the only ones talking about bringing back the '80s.
And you are the one who keeps expecting the equivalent success. What are you going to believe? The ridiculous stories and bullsh*t that this year under Mooks is going to be the best ever or that realistically Parra have the sh*ttiest team in the comp atm? Thankfully I started watching this season with no real expectations, I haven't been dissapointed yet tbh.
What I was saying is there is no sign of any rebuilding yet.
I've seen in bits and patches, in the 2 matches that Parra have won so far, I saw what they were capable of as a team despite being absolute ass. In the first 20-40 minutes of each game I saw what Mooks is trying to achieve with Parra. For every point scored against Parra I saw errors that could be fixed, for the most part Parra dug their own holes with stupid mistakes and poor attitude after shifty ref calls. As someone who didn't renew membership I'm quite satisfied with how the teams coming along, 70% of the sh*tness can be fixed and I hope Mooks can achieve it.

Stop there, do you remember who 'sold' Mooks to Parra as a world cup winning coach? True, he took the job, but I certainly cannot recall him ever giving the false optimism by referencing his previous achievements.

I too was puzzled as to why Mooks was brought in over an experienced and seasoned coach, but he's here now, he signed the contract, Parra offered the contract. He's here for 3 years for good or for worse and I'll be happy to call him a member of Parra until he leaves. All we can do is cross our fingers and hope he kills the apparent sh*tty 'culture' plaguing the players, or whatever voodoo curse it's called nowadays.

They have to admit that no one wants to come here. You can't rebuild if we show nothing on the field. Players are not willing to join clubs that will not challenge.

The poor board.

The poor coach.

It is everyone's fault but theirs.

A few posters here would turn us into the Rabbitohs of the Western Suburbs.

Perennial excuse-makers are useless.

No excuses from me mate, I just don't care about footy too much nowadays with Parra going badly + not much incentive to look forward to the future, so yeah it's a lot easier for me to swallow mediocrity from the club, especially when realistically success is simply too far away at this stage.

I'll be stoked and ready to jump the bandwagon as soon as Parra win though.

Yes, patience is what you need in an NRL club.

It is what Wayne Bennett brings to a club. Patience. f**k wanting results. f**k achieving. Let's all be patient and build. And build. And build.

And with what Kearney has taken on, he should have already won the NRL yesterday.
