I’m a Souths supporter and member but I also have a couple of other NRL club and NSW Cup club memberships.
For the life of me, don’t know why the NRL don’t have an inexpensive Junior Membership that sends them generic NRL/W reading books, sticker packs, ball, footy cards, stationery pack. They’ve got Kangaroos branding for Australia ffs.
Even do a tick the box for NSW/QLD or the 17 clubs and pour the money in to junior development.

Waiting 72 years huh? Not only was there no NRL until 1998, even the Broncos had to be classified as a NSW club to play in the NSWRL competition from 1988.

The Dolphins were never a remote possibility of becoming an NRL franchise until almost the time that it happened.

You've missed my point. "The Dolphins" is rubbish. I'm sure they'll change it. A generic name like "North Brisbane Dolphins" is no better anyway.

If they've been the Redcliffe Dolphins since 1947, they should stay the Redcliffe Dolphins. It's where they're from. Do people in Brisbane know or care where Cronulla, Parramatta or Canterbury are? Why should the reverse matter for Sydney-siders?

The Warriors should have stayed the Auckland Warriors. The Roosters should still be Eastern Suburbs.

Generic location names should be consigned to the past.

Awesome that the dolphins are in, but:
1. Nrl has confirmed the area is not tied to a region
2. Home games will be played out of suncorp
Essentially the NRL has just added a 2nd brisbane team without admitting they are a brisbane team

and now the clowns AT redcliffe are saying ohh nooo its just dolphins for now, not redcliffe
there are AFL teams from towns with less than 20k people ffs.
just call it redcliffe dolphins
