Wests Tigers Coach Tim Sheens has named John Morris at half-back for the match against Melbourne Storm at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Monday, July 14.

Morris replaces the injured Mathew Head, who will be out for two to three weeks with a thumb injury and a re-occurrence of a shoulder injury.

Prop Todd Payten will spend another week on the sidelines after failing to overcome a hamstring injury suffered against the Broncos at ANZ Stadium in round 8.

Fellow prop Keith Galloway returns from an ankle injury.

The match marks the last home game at Campbelltown Sports Stadium for Wests Tigers full-back and captain Brett Hodgson.

I am actually glad Morris is halfback, because the word I was hearing was Marshall would be in the 7 and Lawrence in the 6. I would much prefer Morris in the 7 and Marshall in the 6. At least one of our halves would be playing in position.

I hope to god we are training every night this week out at Campbelltown.

The ground is going to be duey, cold and slippery. Melbourne are more than used to these conditions, its clear as day that we are sh*t @ night footy (pun intended)..

I`ve got a feeling we might beat the Storm. The players who might be on notice always seem to produce once in a while just to ensure their spot in the side for another 10 weeks and i`d say Monday night could be the night for them to produce.

Looking at the big picture, i`m wondering if Sheens has had any flashbacks back to `2005 triggering the fact that we were going nearly as ordinary as what we have been over the past month or so before he introduced some young talent that braught the enthusiasm needed to lift the side each week. It`s certainly working well at clubs such as Penrith and Souths, surely he has noticed ???

Vicious, Sheens doesn't pay attention to what other coaches do, he's the don of dons and doesn't lower himself to actually take advice or notice of what others do.

If the Storm show up, they'll win by 40. If they don't, they'll win by 10. We just ain't good enough or tough enough.

Obviously the Storm are a much classier side than what we are, but to be honest I think they`re over rated as well. Plenty of brilliant individuals, but some of the others surrounding them are just plodders that are made look good by the class players around them. Brett White is very average, their whole forward pack isn`t much better than ours, their class players are just that good they generally overcome that.
I`d love to be bookie as i`d take the Storm right on, I don`t think they can win the comp this season peronally.

You're kidding, right?

Easily the best backline in the comp. Easily the best 1,6,7,9 in the comp. One of the top forward packs in the comp (if not the best). You say their forward pack isn't much better than ours, then which of those players wouldn't make the Tigers team? I'd take any of them in a heartbeat over sh*t like Te'o, Payne etc. Heighington is probably the only one of ours who'd even be considered to make the Melbourne starting line up, and even then its unlikely.

In saying that, they aren't unbeatable. But I think we need to hope for them to have an off night for us to be a chance.

With such a big backline like the Storm, I was almost expecting a backline shuffle for us.

Shift Tuiaki to the bench, Lawrence out to wing, Ryan into Centre and Tagive onto the other wing spot.

Gibbs will have to be all over Cameron Smith like nits over a souths fan if we are a chance of keeping with the Storm. I'd have Halatau marking on Inglis in when we're defending, and Heighington running at him when we're attacking.

Halatau marking Inglis ???
Watch Halatau closely, he`s one of the worst one on one defenders in the competition ! And you`d need someone a bit quicker than Heighington to worry Inglis when running at him. Good whole hearted footballer, but he doesn`t strike fear into anyone when he runs at them !!!

I am curious why you guys keep on mentioning Peni as if he will help us out when he returns from injury.
Maybe I missed something, but in his game against the Rooters,he handed 3 names at least 2 tries through his ineptitude in defensive postitioning.
From the next few games I saw, he wasn't much better.
But, compared to other McWingers...he does run straight, and is quick.
Quick as in fast...not daddy telling him he is the fastestest runner in the whole wide world !!
His turnstile attitude towards defence is a worry.

Convince me that I'm wrong...and that Peni ( great name) actually does go OK.
God help us against the Storm.

I tend to agree, I think Peni showed potential but he's raw as they come and I wouldn't like to see him take a regular first grade spot yet.

I'm happy with Ryan on one wing, if it were up to me I'd move Halatau to centre, Lawrence to the other wing and put Tuiaki in the back row...then we'd have a forward with size who runs hard AND a centre that actually tackles

Who on earth said anything about McDonnell? McDonnell isn't in this weeks team (and yeah I'm aware thats through injury but doesn't mean I can't hope its permanent

Permanent, or however you wanna spell it, is a long time. I'm sure we don't want to see this bloke on crutches for the rest of his life.
That's not very nice.
He can get better on his 35th birthday !!.

Do you think he would still move sideways on his crutches?
At least they wouldn't affect his speed.
