Not Offsiders related but rugby league tv publicity related: Noticed that cricketer Chris Lynne from the Brisbane Heat mentioned the rugby league world cup and a few decent cricketers in the Kangaroos squad(particularly Munster) in an interview last night. Adam Gilchrist almost choked on his microphone. The publicity and recognition for rugby league was a bit too much for him I reckon!

If you haopened to view this particular game you would not think so. Perhaps their maybe some producer/ editorial advice being affected? I thought he was a footy fan as well but not from what I witnessed during the interview with Lynne(*whom is a RLfooty fan).

Yes. However the Lynne interview was very quickly skimmed over by Gilchrist and he did not remark on things like Munster's good swing bowling ability which Lynne emphasised and no acknowledgment of the epic victory the Kangaroos had over the English.

Absolutely! The AFL content is almost obsessive. I've seen other codes mentioned but nowhere near the amount of AFL content. Given that rugby league is at least equal in popularity (tv wise) its(BBLcommentary) not a good PR exercise for RL that's for sure. It is for AFL!

Rugby League sounds like a bunch of whinging pussies when it comes to the ABC and in particular Offsiders coverage.
We sound like those Hollywood actresses demanding equality. It is a pathetic victim mentality that should be below our code. "Woah is me!! Oh, when is somebody going to so something for me".
Either make it happen by hard work or stop bitching about it. You don't get handouts.
