I thought the really pathetic thing about that column was the two articles on players' girlfriends. Do we really need to know about that sort of stuff?
Ohhh yesss! Tell me more.

What was Phool's column about this morning? Knife-sharpening?

Seriously though, Politis wouldn't be stupid. Not many stupid people become as rich as him. So why does he think Freddie would make a great coach? Just because he was a great player or is there some evidence of this?

And Goose, he could hardly believe his luck. Coaching Director with the motto "All care and no responsibility taken". Anything goes wrong, how could it be his fault? He's not the coach, at least not in name.

He did have the great Fitler during the Roosters great run of finals but since hes left the Roosters have gone down hill.

The Storm will look they are running downhill when you have to play them in two weeks.

Fuel for the fire: Stuart failed to front the media after today's thrashing by the Warriors but his "agent" (he travels with an agent?) assured the journos that Stuart was not aware of any such move. That bit at least sounds right. You rarely see the end coming when you're living in denial.

haha... you see johnny raper giving it to barrett but raper is not giving it to his son...

and after seeing who wrote this article... its hard to believe this story is true or bs...

but all i can think of is that stuart's coaching performance will come under review at the end of the season...

The only thing that carried Stuart into the Grand Finals was B Fittler. Once he left the Roosters lost their way and Stuart had no decent man to base his play around. He threw it all on Finch's shoulders and the little f**kup couldn't and still can't handle it. Roosters are going through a major downswing now, 2009-10 may see them back at their best.

Timmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmah, why do you put merit into this story when we all know who wrote it.
If the opposite was true and they wrote a very negative article about your beloved puppy dogs (of which you know sweet f**k all about) you would be screaming the place down saying that they have no cred blah blah blah.

Difference is, even Rooter fans seem to want Sticky gone ;-)

NRL.com is now carrying an article saying he's likely to be shafted I think :thumb

I wouldn't trust anything written in that rag, they put way too much emphasis on rumours and bullcrap (that whole 'Johns quitting the NRL if he gets suspended ' story comes to mind), but i expect he doesn't have long to get us out of this slump or we could be seeing another Brian Smith incident. Personally, I don't care if he goes or stays, how can it get any worse? Give Freddy a go.

 oh how much i love the Roosters getting cleaned out. It is a Rebecca Wilson story though so that gives it absolutely no credibility.

I wonder how Braith "i want to play under the best coach in the game" Anasta is feeling about this

Would Folkesy take the Aussie coach?? Ahh they will probably go with Bellamy anyway...
Why not.

Not the first time he has gone from assistant to head coach before :D

Yeah....you assume correct.

What I hate is being used as a pawn in a way for their petty bitchfests, all I wanna do is read about rugby league, Im not interested in their little tiffs....but they have to include the immature digs at each time after time after time.

I'm sure also they think its entertaining for the reader, when imo nothing could be further from the truth.

This will sound weird, but Rebecca Wilson makes me really like Gus.

Yeah i think Bellamy deserves the job anyway, and I'd rather him do it so Folkesy gets time off to work out some ideas for the 2007 season. And i doubt Folkes would take the job of Australian coach anyway tbh. I would love to see him get more recognition for his work though...The amount of crap he has brang our club through in the past 4 years has been incredible, and he has 1 premiership and 3 finals appearances to show for it..

Source of the article aside, main reason Ricky's position would be under review is that a coach's job is to get the best out of his players, and he's failing.

There's obviously got to be some leeway for when things slump or don't go right, but when you have the players that the Roosters have, and they're not performing together or for each other (or for their coach) and it's meant two years in a row without making the semis, then questions of the coaching staff have to be asked.

It'll be the wrong move if that's the case. It's a knee-jerk reaction.

He's been successful in the past at club, state and country level. He's innovative - the rush defence was a tremendous ploy.

For those saying he relied on Fittler, I'm assuming its tongue in cheek because no one sane could rationalise that argument. If Minichiello, Fitzgibbon, Ricketson, Wing, heck even the likes of Simon Bonetti, Peter Cusack, Chris Flannery, Luke Phillips, Andrew Lomu did not play a part in the Roosters success, I'm not here. That's a cheap cop out, nothing more, nothing less.

He's a good coach. If he does go, he'll find success elsewhere. The Roosters club will become the transit lounge again if this is true.
