TBH, I only truly celebrated at about 1pm today when Hayne and Keating were cleared.

Enjoyed the game and loved the win - but what a cloud hanging over it!

The virtual siren for the game eventually sounded for me when the MRC indicated they could play with early pleas.

Yep, me too! :D

My heart was in my mouth when Ennis made the run from dummy half. Hindy's game saving tackle may have been the difference between this thread being a reality or not.

Their last tackle options showed that they were tired, however, I think the boys were equally knackered, and that the tide could have turned, had Ennis been able to get away.

Mate, the way we were defending, and with what the Bulldogs were throwing at us, we weren't going to lose.
I've seen all those bad memories as well, don't forget.

I said at half time that if we keep defending the way we were, and we cut out the mistakes, we'd beat that mob. They showed me very little in the first half to suggest otherwise.

Suity

I agree with all that. Even though we were behind, I got heaps of confidence from Kimmorley going for that FG on half time.

It wasnt just the way we were defending on Friday night, it's been the last month. I was confident, but nervous. When Mortimer scored it was game over.

edit: we've also knocked those pricks out the last 2 times we've played them in finals football, so I think we can certainly say 1998 has been well and truly buried and there is no need to even mention it again. Dogs of War indeed.....

With 10 to go i knew we had it in the bag. We were all over them and the crowd was right behind parra. I have never cheered louder in my life then when mortimer scored. What a moment!

I started crying when Morts scored, but kept shaking my head no saying "not yet, not yet". The Titans fan in front of me, turned around with two minutes to go and said "I think you can start celebrating now" and I just started sobbing!!!

After Morts scored I was sure, but just didn't want to say it. Wasn't until about 4 to go I felt comfortable saying we were home out loud. I don't think many people around me wanted to say anything either as I was the first one that I heard.

Like Harry Potter, my scars hurt from past events. I could not celebrate until I heard the hooter.

I didn't - but that's because I was happy that the team were in the Prelim and competing hard. Win lose or draw I was happy as long as they didn't get lapped.

With 10 minutes to go however, I knew that we'd made it to the GF. The Dogs were shot. This wasn't the same as '98 where you could see the players turn their attention to the next game before they'd finished the one they were in, you could see that they were still switched on.

Also, in '98 the Dogs had more belief in themselves as well. They didn't give up. This time around they had. Body language tells a lot.
