Price hasn't played since the end of '09?!?!

I thought you had to be wrong but I looked him up.

SIX seasons ago!!! Far out time flies!

Yep and Price is 41 years old now as well. That also seems amazing to me- maybe he doesn't seem as old because he was probably at his peak in his 30s.

I could have sworn he was still playing a 'couple' of years ago. I knew he was older at the end but it's been six years since he played.

Just shocked me.

Yeah he was supposed to play in 2010, which was the year Mannering was made Warriors captain. He never actually ended up playing under Mannering. There was some speculation at the time that maybe he was just packing a sad about Mannering taking the captaincy off him, but actually it was some sort of nagging injury (I forget what actually) that he could never get over and eventually he gave up and retired.

I also find it amazing there is a 13 year age gap between Price and Mannering...must've been pretty galling to lose the captaincy to someone that young.

I"m pretty sure it was a heel injury that kept Price sidelined for the entire 2010 season.

According to Minto's wikipedia page, he is 78 now.

So it makes sense he was 70 when he retired in 2007 (eight years ago).

Well if we are going to go all the way back there was a bloke who played for norths I believe with his son also in the side. Was sometime in the 30s I think.

That guy would have had to be pretty old

On 14 June 1924 when Tedda Courtney was 39 he played in a game for Wests against Glebe alongside his son, Ed Courtney, Jr.,. It remains the only time a father and son combination has played together in a Sydney first grade game.

Back then you could be first grade because the bench was short so it doesnt really count.

Im only really taking into account the professional era.
Anyone know of the early '00s?
