When was the last time England had 3 players from Oldham in the team ?

Bridge, Sinfield & Eastmond.

The most i can think of previously is Barrie McDermott & Paul Sculthorpe, i don't know if Iestyn Harris played in he same team as them.

yep barrie, scully & Iestyn would have played for GB together probably around 97 or 98..though technically scully is'nt from oldham..born over in burnley but moved here when he was young..but we claim him anyway.

was glad to see the 3 oldham boys stood next to each other during the national anthems on saturday, hopefully that picture will be in the oldham chronicle tonight..

Hey spud, what's the deal with Mike Ford's two boys? Heard they played against each other in rahrah over the weekend and the youngest, George, is only 16. Wasn't he in the service area team a year or two back? And I think Joe was with Bradford.

Are they both permanently lost? Are they a big loss?

not sure where they are in terms of league, think both signed for warrington at one point?..but as you point out george is already playing for england under 18s in union and he's just turned 16 iirc

is going to be a big star which ever code he takes up full time..

theres just so much talent coming out of oldham it's untrue...just a shame none of them ever play for oldham...

While we have a thread on Oldham, are they out of the woods re: the financial trouble that they recently found themselves and the bickering between the two shareholders?

It kills me to say it but it appears both George Ford and Owen Farrell have been completely lost to RL, which is tragic because these two had the skill, ability etc to match anything that Australia/NZ can produce.

SSTID, i think Chris Hamilton has bought shares in Oldham and got them out of a tight situation.

thats one of teh problems with "league legends" going to union..not only do we lose the input to the game that a mike ford, andy farrell and shaun edwards would bring as coaches...we are starting to lose their bloodline too..

and yeah chris is now the sole owner of ORLFC again

I see your boys are homeless again spud, hope you get some good news soon. When you sold the Watersheddings was there no money left over at all for a future development? Oh, and what happened to the supporters trust that was making plans for a new ground?

theres no hope for us if the council keeps screwing us over..

we might have had some money left over if we went with our original plan of us selling sheddings to housing developers...but the council stepped in,offered us less money for sheddings but promised to build us a new ground...the basturd council then sold sheddings on to the same housing developer we were going to sell to in the first place and the council made a tidy profit...then forgot to build us a new stadium..

the sooner we leave oldham the better....and alot of us feel like that now, the place is dead run by corrupt, clueless wankers..

Not only Oldham mate, there's a lot of dirty councils out there on the take. When I was a kid I used to go skating at Richmond Ice Rink, until the council sold it to developers who were going to turn it into flats and build a new rink elsewhere. Long story short there's lots of flats there now but no ice rink in the borough, and the council didn't bother challenging the company. Someone obviously made money out of it.

Hope something comes up for you guys.

Dont know about spud but for me The Tameside Stadium home of Curzon Ashton F.C brand new stadium with a 4,000 capacity, just over the town boundary and good transport links from Oldham town centre would be ideal,
As A local authority Tameside is everything Oldham is not, providing quality leisure facilities for its population and not pandering to nimbys and minorities

http://www.curzon-ashton.co.uk/football-index.htm
Then i think we need to look at Oldham RU in a joint venture to develop the area around their ground into a 10000 capacity stadium, if that is possible ,with all interested parties involved.

I have a little question about Chris Hamilton.

Is he the right man for the job? He seems to have been running the club for a long time and they seem to be hitting the same problems time and again. No idea how many times they've been to the high court to face winding up over the last ten years.

At the moment he is the only man for the job, as he is now the sole owner of the clubs shares and only director, love him or hate him he is the only one who has put his hand up despite rumors of consortium's out there ready to buy in.
