Anyone else get the feeling that his form has dropped pretty heavy on last year. I know lang said he is probably not at 100% fitness yet but dunno.. it's a shame because i think at his best luke is one of our best players honestly.

Perhaps i expect too much? thoughts?!

well if I was coach I would use issac to start, and then interchange him with crocker as he played very well at hooker in the parra game, as crocker is a better tackler and not a small guy like issac and a target in defence

then use issac for the last 30 mins of the game as his more explosive and a good chance he can make breaks running at tried forwards, you can always interchange crocker for second row interchange

i agree. he's lost form and should be replaced..

we're happy to take this liability off your hands, and will be happy to swap you for one of our u/20's up and comers..

he's a risk to your team and the sooner he pulls on the red & white jersey the better, as far as i'm concerned..

i'm so generous, i'll even let you pick which u/20s player you want..

Nothing wrong with him. He just needs to get his fitness up. He will get better with every game, provided he avoids concussion.

He's not where he was this time last but that kind of form isn't far away I reckon.

Apparently the deal is getting blocked because it was organised without the involvement of Orr, his agent. Richo claims he had the permission of Gallop.

For those asking about Issac Luke's contract Our CEO, Shane Richardson says :

"Issac Luke has signed a contract with the South Sydney Football Club. He will be a Rabbitoh for a further four years."
That's the statement from Souths official facebook page.

I've heard it's just minor issues to do with him not having an agent and doing the negotiations himself.

IF the NRL insist on him having an agent present he can just get some stooge in to read over the contract. We wouldn't have been stupid enough to try and sign him to anything illegal.

It's a non issue. Luke will be with us till the end of 2015 (and hopefully many years beyond that).

At very least until he gets his fitness back up, I agree with this.

I think it's a bit much to expect him to be at his rampaging best right after a serious injury.

He's a proud man and won't take a step backwards, but I think his coach should explain to him that this is best for him AND the team. He'll be back on track for 80 minutes again soon enough.

At his best, Luke isn't near to the Bunnies' best player - he is their bext player by a country mile.

Luke has done nothing wrong this year. His defense has been OK .
He of course is a marked man which should open space for other teammates . confirmed given Souths have second highest scoring in the NRL so far.
It is when Luke is NOT marked and souths are not scoring and Luke is doing nothing in attack , then i would have a concern with Luke.

Yeah he's definitely a step slower off the mark so far this year but he'll get back to top form soon. He's a bonafide champion AND he's an 80 minute player.

Gee, I think you guys are a bit harsh on Isaac, he does a mountain of work and before he was injured last Friday although maybe a step slower at this stage he regularaly dragged 3 defenders along without going to ground which really helps speed the play along.
Wouldnt swap Isaac Luke for any player in the NRL

he does not look as impressive now you have to play the ball properly, it has slowed the ruck and does not allow for an easy run from dummy half

I heard that the NRL are going to block Lukes deal resigning with Souths, What the hell has Richo done now ?

Stand and Be Counted !

The deal has been approved with Gallop's blessing.

According to a report in Rugby League Week, the Player Agent Accreditation Scheme (PAAS) called on the NRL to reject the hooker's four-year deal brokered earlier this month.

The PAAC are crying about it not the NRL

Souths chief executive Shane Richardson claimed NRL boss David Gallop had cleared the club to negotiate directly with Luke.

He has not long signed a 4 year contract with Pacific Management and the club may speak to a player but where he has an agent they also have to sign and this hasnt happened. where an player has no Agent they can do it but when they do have 1 the agent needs to sign it so as to ensure a player is protected and is a policy.

Let me get this straight. I player CAN sign a contract without a manager if he has no manager......but if he does have a manager than the manager MUST sign as well for it to be legal.
Well if a player can be sacked by a club, and a manager can drop a player from their list of clients ....can a play sack a manager if he is not happy with his performance. Considering the player is paying the manager for his services he should be able to terminate the managers services if he is not happy with him.

There are a few players apparently without agents who do their own contract negotiations so why not issac?

Craig Wing negotiated his last contract with Souths on his own, apparently because at that time he didn't even have an agent. NRL signed off on it.

It sounds like the Players agents are only concerned that they would be cut out of their share. Pay them the 6% every year Issac and get them off your back, then sign up as a player agent yourself with the NRL.
