Bulldogs relentless pressure and error free football paid off and proved too much for a Tigers outfit that couldn't match the Dogs grit. Ennis outplayed Farah in every facet of the game and i'd be suprised not to see 9. Ennis 7. Kimmorley again for origin

Even Fitzfumble would be a better choice than Kimmorley at 7 for SOO! Remember Kimmorley single handedly won Qld a series with the most inept individual performance in SOO history culminating in a cut-out pass for Qld to score the match winning try. Kimmorley should play for St George, he is a chronic choker and was past his use-by when he left the Storm a decade ago.

I wouldn't lose too much heart, I thought the tigers were magnificent in defense. Great effort considering the players out injured. They will make the 8 no problem, more then likely top 4. Give them 50% possession and they will beat anyone if they keep defending like that. A few observations from the game:

There are errors and bad decisions made in every game by referees but that first half was the most one sided refereeing display I have seen in the past decade. Cantebury were allowed to get away with anything and everything, especially in the play the ball. Almost complete opposite for the tigers, they kept getting pinged for minor infringements. That first try where Ryan was taken out; an absolute disgrace. Do they still rig some of these games? I'd be pissed if I was a tigers fan. Actually, as a league fan I am pissed.

The standard of refereeing has simply disintegrated this year. Maybe unfair to blame a single person but I say sack Finch and then see if things improve; nothing to lose.

The first half was also the most inept performance I have seen from a team that had something like 63% possession. Near the end of the first half tackles in the opposition 20 were something like 37-3 to Cantebury. How can you have that much ball and only score one try FFS? The sharks would have put 6 tries on by half time.

The way Ennis celebrated after that first try almost made me puke, they should have had 4 or 5 tries on the board by then. Rather then celebrating, what I would have done if I was him was dig a 10 foot hole, crawled into it, asked my team mates to join me and stayed there for a week, that's how embarrased I would have been. I take some consolation from the fact that Cantebury are going NOWWHERE this year. They will not make the 8 based on that performance.

(I'm a dragons fan by the way)

I particularly loved when Gibbs made a great dominant tackle and was penalised in the ruck...

I couldn't have said it any better myself....word for word. It was the most one sided refereeing display i've seen ina long time...sure they squared it up a little later in the game but the damage was done in the first 30 minutes..it would have just about warranted an on field protest. As far as i'm concerned though the boys did the club proud..don't be too hard on Lazarus..nerves and bad cramp made it a tough debut for him. As for Ennis..is there anyone in the game that can make a grown man as sick to watch

With 5 of our forwards out for the Dogs no go forward could hardly be an excuse for the Tigers.

I don't think anyone is suggesting it was lost in the forwards.

More like our usual litany of schoolboy errors: failing to find touch on a penalty; poor completion rate; giving away silly penalties; failing to keep a cool head when it counts...

Then there was the time Marshall got tackled without the ball.

But all-in-all, I think the problem was our half-back. He looked like he was a little out of his depth to start with, then he was moved from pillar to post throughout the backline. Hope he's all the better for his first hit-out, because we'll need him to improve on that performance.

He didn't get the best chance really. He was put everywhere in the backline as the game progressed, it was clear Farah was at half and Fitzy at hooker. Honestly, for the life of me, I have no idea why Fitzhenry was seen as a hooker in England and by Sheens. He's the worst defender on our team maybe bar Benji, yet is getting game time at hooker, the 2nd most defender on the pitch... what!??!
