Lyon fan club shrinking fast.

Jamie Lyon has rapidly run out of supporters. After departing Parramatta he has gone through three different managers and is apparently demanding $300,000 a season AND a rural property to live at for his services.

Now there is talk he might go to St Helens for two seasons. Seems he is still a mixed up young man.

Could explain the lack of interest from everyone bar Manly. :?

Goodbye once and for all Jamie. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

Great decision by Parra club on this one to stand firm. He didn't want to play by the contract rules, and he has to face the consequences - which turned out to be uprooting and moving o/s to earn the type of money (and property deal) he and his minders think he deserves.

Great player, and a big big shame. But in this year's dealings he revealed his pea heart, forked tongue and green eyes.

Oh, I almost forgot... at Manly for their whinging again.

The funny thing about this mess is that dikhead lyon will be at manly after playing 1 year at saints , i will put my balls on it, he will go over there for a year, then he will seek a release on the grounds of being homesick (missing cleals arse),they will give him a release and he will be at gayville oval in 2006. fitzy just should have told cry baby lyon play with us or dont play at all, simple really...........

I think you'll find there actually is a clause in the St Helens contracts that states that he can't play for any other NRL club other Parra before 07

I reckon St Helens wouldn't give him a release. They know from the Parra situation that Lyon is a risk, and after putting up such huge money for him I'm sure they'll keep him for the two years.

Manly could not afford what St Helens would want for a release! Parra only asked to recoup their $150K loss. I'd say Lyon would be on around $500K equivalent now. I doubt Manly could/would want to make Jamie the new Joey of the competition, just to get him to Brookvale...

No better to get the $150k, I reckon..

Especially if it means it comes of our cap. Not sure it would though

I don't get DF. St Helens and ESL with their huge Transfer Fees, I would've asked St Helens for a $500K release fee.

Then used that to retain hindy and co.

I think $150K to St Helens is probably nothing.

It is nothing, but I don't think transfer fees are the go in Australia anymore, as much as they still seem to be over here.

So I think Parramatta was only actually able to ask for the money it stood to lose on Jamie leaving early, which, and I stand to be corrected, had been reduced to a $150K contract during the Wee Waa release agreement?
