Saab is very fast but I’d say he’d beat most in our team over 100 but not over 40 which is more important. One thing he does have is height. As the season proper gets underway he will be a weapon in the air off kicks. He scored at a pretty high strike rate in his few games last season outside Aitken so I’m sure he will be fine.

You nailed it Forbes.
He is up there over 100m but over 40 meter guys like dufty and cody are much quicker.
I agree he will go fine. He reminds me of a young Toupo he will get better with age.
I the air he is a weapon especially under the new rules .

Do the nines really count in the whole selection for the real games. Sometimes teams loose players through injury, just like us.
Cam should have not been playing this early.
I rather we just played our youngsters.

Freddy Fittler has nominated Saab as his breakout star in 2020. Lets hope Mary gives him a shot, id personally start with him over Rava at this stage purely because of the new rule. There are not many areas we have an edge over other teams so having one of if not the tallest player in the comp in Saab it would be stupid not to at least give him a month. If he really struggles I'm confident Rava could do a job but Saab is the future.

Disagree, very poor effort failing to score the try in the 9's.

Ravalawa shouldn’t be anywhere near first grade selection. Even Happy Dragon would be a better option.

I wouldn't read too much into the 9s plenty of players had average 9s but will kill it in NRL this season and vice versa. Was good to see some of the young guys but I guarantee that will be tries he scores this season that no one else in our squad could. Are you going to not pick Rava because he couldn't out jump a certain player in the air? All players have upside and downsides. Seeing as though whoever is outside Aitken will likely see little ball it would be nice to have an option for an attacking kick against a tough defensive team like the Rorters. Im almost certain Rava will be picked because that's a Mary move but id be happy to cop some short term pain for long term gain myself.

I do tend to agree, his handling has worried me in the past. He looks better this season though must have worked hard. I don't know why he doesn't have a go in the forwards, he could be a pretty solid second rower that can play in the backs if needed. Built like a tank.

A flashback to John Fifita? No thanks, I’ll pass.

I reckon Rav has built up too much and appears too heavy and as flex as a brick with all the muscle

I reckon Ravalawa will be our number 1 winger this year. The other wing spot will be a rotating door. Saab, Pereria, Sailor....
It wouldn’t shock me, and if he does good on him. I’m sure he is a champion bloke. It’s going to be an intriguing season with a lot of players and a coach coming off contract soon how the 2021 squad will start to take shape over the 2020 season.

Rava will be on one wing for sure. His brain farts in the 9’s won’t count against him. He actually did ok in the Newy trial.

If he can minimise his errors, he could actually be very good. The coaches need to keep working with him though.

That is great news! Saab does have the size, speed and skills to make the number 5 jumper his own at the Dragons. With Saab and Ramsey I feel we finally have some really good talent coming through on the wings.

All we need to do now is find a good right centre to join Williame in the centres. If we can do this we may very well have the makings of a competitive back 5.

How do you think Ravalawa would go at right centre? Just imagine him busting through with Saab outside and Lomax inside.
His hands concern me, soft hands are an attribute good centres have and I dont believe he has them, maybe he will develop further in 2020. Unfortunately with our current head coach we know who will be the centre pairing.

I agree, I actually think he could learn but I doubt they have even tried so it’s a pipe dream at this stage.
