You know Jermaine O'NeAl is a washed up hack now unfortunately. He gets injured every few weeks and he has been described as an offensive black hole. Will help out on D alot but really is worth about 8mil not 20+.

:?

injuries ended his and a loss of personnel ended his dominance ... he's not a franchise player and the lack of replacements for jackson and artest put too much pressure on him ... he played his best when he didn't have all the pressure on him ... tinsley never amounted to what everyone expected and JO7 had to go it alone

Dominance "rule; control; authority; ascendancy". I don't see any guideline for length. A player can dominate 1 game, 1 season or 1 decade and it is still dominance. For a period of 3-5 years JO cotrolled the post on both ends averaging roughly 20 10 and a couple of blocks. Too bad his knees packed in or the Pacers may still be a playoff team.

Dominance is a bit strong......4 or so good years doesn't amount to dominance.

he was dominant during that period ... i didn't say he was THE dominant player, but he was up there ... he was the most improved player one year, then after that he made the all nba team one year, was a regular all star player, broke pacers franchise defensive records

from about 03-06 JO7 was the boss ... after that, the team got broken up, JO7 had all the pressure on his shoulders and his knees turned into sh*t

The brawl was the end of a championship calibre team. JO was the man they built around. After that, they ripped the team apart. You can blame injuries and what not, but he just wasnt the same player after that...

ron artest was the franchise player, not JO ... artest was given so many chances because he was the man they built the team around ... they didn't build the team around JO until artest left and we found out JO wasn't franchise team material

Correct. Man our team had so much promise with our young star pg Tinsley, one of the best sgs at the time in Miller, Artest the best defensive player in the league at that time, JO a dominant big on both ends and Jeff Foster a good role player and great rebounder.

It was obvious from the get go that JO tried his hardest to be a good leader, and he was a great guy for the state of Indiana but he just couldn't handle the pressure of carrying the team by himself after losing 2 big names at once.

I hate you so much Ben Wallace!!

don't forget stephen jackson! probably a better shooter, at the time, than reggie miller ... miller and JO7 went above themselves after the palace brawl, but we needed artest ... i know jackson had a lengthy suspension but can't remember - half of artest's? - but we missed artest the most ... that guy gave so much presence on the court and took the pressure off the rest

that was a championship team right there, and i always felt cheated that wallace only got 5 games, or whatever it was, he should have got more for the on court ruckus because the rest of what happened probably wouldn't have happened if he didn't go ape sh*t

That the was the first year I played fantasy BB and I took Artest in rouund 3 I think (5 years ago, bit sketchy) - he was killing it that year, through the first couple weeks til the brawl easily one of the top 10 players (fantasy wise) and I was thinking I'd got a steal.

Feel for you Pacers fans, that was the first game against the defending champs at THEIR court and you guys had smoked them.
