Was in 3 finals today, won one, lost one (Shiva) and one is gonna come down to the Broncos D (LU Elites)

So what have we all learnt from this season? As always you learn a little more each year, feel free to post random thoughts from this season.

I still feel that the best time to draft a QB is rounds 6-10 , anyone who drafted Brady, Ryan, Luck, Romo would be pretty happy.

Taking a WR early isn't as 'safe' as many experts like to claim, anyone who drafted Megatron or Julio and lost them for extended periods would've learnt that

Yeah but Luck was more of a 4th/5th round guy, I'm talking early. He'll join Rodgers et al. up there next season though I guess.

Yeah true

It really does depend and I don't think you can make a blanket rule on this stuff, I mean if you drafted Manning or Rodgers you're happy, if you drafted Brees you're probably a little disappointed.

I got burnt in a few leagues where I took WRs early and just loaded up on RBs, if you don't hit on those guys it leaves you awfully thin and you don't find many reliable RBs throughout the season, as opposed to WRs

The argument I guess is that early WRs are 'safer', partiuclarly in PPR leagues

(These are very rough figures)

There's not enough scarcity at QB to warrant a high pick I think. Luck was great this year but still there's 7 other guys within 5 points per game of him and you have to get in to the QB20's before you find a guy he's outscoring by more than 10.

If you can predict a freak season like Manning's 2013 (he outscored Luck's 2014 by almost 100) then it's worth it, Brees was the only guy within cooee of his stats so it was a huge advantage.

Go to other positions and RB1 is just about doubling the RB20, TE1 is doubling TE12. The drop off is large.
WR is pretty similar to QB, especially now with an influx of quality rookies making the pool even bigger.

You can get 70% of Luck's production from an 8th-10th round QB, but you'll be lucky to get 50% of a Murray/Bell or Gronk/Graham from the same spot.

I hate owners that do that, so frustrating!

Yeah man, very frustrating and of course that leaves dudes like joique bell and Rashad Jennings there in late as heck rounds when I would pick a qb and I can't just leave them sitting there. So i had awesome depth at RB but nothing at qb. Although Peterson out and Jennings gone for a lot of the season hurt me a bit.

As for todays game, in another league (where the final is played in round 17) I had my semi final, I needed CJ Anderson to outscore Demaryius Thomas by 7 or more and he beat him by 8! I totally thought I had no chance.

Finally got around to playing daily the last 2 weeks. Just small stakes 50/50 and a couple of triple and quintuple up tournaments. Small sample size but the small stakes seem fairly easy, I've cashed 27 of 29 entries.

I'll definitely be all in next season, start with a much larger bank roll and just grind the small stakes for a while and reassess after 4-6 weeks.

It reminds me a bit of the online poker boom when there was fish everywhere if you could put the hours in, this is just easier, set a line up, double check it before the games and you're all set.

How are you playing zombie? I tried but it required a US postal address and they told me it was only open to American citizens.

I've got 2 spots going in a 14 team NFL.com PPR league if there are any takers. Fourth year running it.

Shoot me a PM if you're keen.

anyone have any ideas on the best way to run a 9 man league?

I have a mates league and we've had a 9th mate join in this year, struggling to find a good way to make it fair
