Opeth tour

Got my tix this morning, after going to freaking TicketMaster because when I rang them they said they were being sold through them. Then I found out it's through Ticketek, which annoyed my greatly.

Any one heard a band called Thy Serpent? They're on one of my compilation cds and they sound EXACTLY like Opeth.

I've been getting into some doom/death bands recently - November's Doom and of course the great My Dying Bride. Very, very impressive stuff.

I've got "Christcrusher" and it's standard Finnish black/death.

Guess they've changed their style.

My Dying Bride are absolute gods.. I can also smugly claim to have beaten just about everyone into being into them as I saw them live supporting Boltthrower in 1991 in the UK before they did their first album
, and somewhere have a copy of their first (pre-Peaceville) 7" EP numbered 43 of 1000! They've still got it too, their last couple of albums have been among their best, and Aaron Stainthorpe has one of the most monstrous voices ever (just listen to the live stuff to see whta I mean!)

That's what I though... had a copy of an early EP and thought they were a typical melodic black metal act. Decent but nothing special.

Sounds very much like Opeth. The only track I have heard is from 2000 called 'Deathbearer' from the MCD 'Death'.
