Orford is good but have you seen him play the last 5 games?

Orfords form has been dissapointing in the last month especially v rabbits and canberra- he did play one good match v tigers and thats it !

Anyway he is nothing on Joey, Firman-who is brilliant, and Kimmorley as his personality is not as dominant as theirs- however his age and potential make him a good signing but paying 400k is desperate and paying 340k for Riddell is also desperate-BUT WE ARE DESPERATE -SMITHY?

We did not pay Riddell $340k!!! He is on $250k a season plus incentives. The only way he will get $340k a season out of us is if
a) we win the comp
b) he plays origin
c) he plays for Australia
d) he doesnt get injured
e) he scores a shit load of tries and kicks a shit load of goals
I reckon a max of possibly 2 of those could even POSSIBLY happen...so dont get hyped up saying he's getting paid $350k a year.
Though this might offset the fact that we offered Orford $500k not $400k! lol :lol:

What is your point exactly? Are you saying we should offer him 400K or not? I for one think that is far too much money especially when considering he's only after a one season deal.

Yes too much money - i think however we have to get an experienced half and young one and fits both but the money is overs !

But we need and have needed a good half for 10-15 years now and nothing has happened since Sterlo so yes we have to give him lots -as long as we get him- WE NEED HIM!

also he will help M Witt to develop and T.Smith

That's the way mate, think of the good times. You seem pleased that your side is going to be throwing 500k at a player who's only going to be there for a year anyway, and is just in it for the money :?

Personally as a club I would offer him 400k a season for three seasons, with an option to release after 1 year if a Central Coast team is accepted into the competition.

Riddell is worth every cent. We need creative players, gamebreakers - he has all the skills. I put him up there with Craig Wing when it comes to vision.

Orford would be a good buy but I really believe we should develop Witt and Smith as halves. If Dykes is gone, then lets build the team around these guys, a fresh approach.

With a couple of good outside backs and another decent backrower (Pritchard), anything is possible...
