Orford Replaces Kimmorley In Origin 2

Matt Orford is the new half back for nsw in the 2nd game, Kimmorley was ruled out earlier today with a hamstring injury.

Orford will join the nsw team tonight as they fly to queensland for origin 2 on wednesday.



In my opinion I think orford is the best half in the nrl now that johns is injured. well done matty.

New South Wales half-back Brett Kimmorley is out of State of Origin II on Wednesday night after injuring his hamstring at training.

Melbourne Storm playmaker Matt Orford takes his spot in the Blues line-up.

ABC Grandstand reported that St George Illawarra five-eighth Trent Barrett was originally asked to take Kimmorley's spot but declined on medical advice.

Kimmorley's injury occurred with the Blues participating in an opposed session against the Sydney Roosters' Jersey Flegg side at Wentworth Park in Sydney.

He had to be attended to by medical staff who confirmed he would have to withdraw.

Orford becomes the third half-back selected by New South Wales selectors after Penrith's Craig Gower injured his knee during the first match in Sydney.
