Haha yeah, I'm normally in that position, and probably will end up in the bottom 4 again this year unfortunately.

This is the problem with drafting. I know full well I can't win this year, so I'm much better off just fielding chumps and waiting for a high draft pick again. It's a stupid system (not saying it's stupid in our league only, the whole concept of drafts in professional sports is ridiculous to me).

I prefer a system that at least provides opportunities for the bad teams to get better rather than not

Yeah I appreciate that, but what's to stop the bottom 3 or 4 teams from throwing their games once their season is dusted. I know going into the last couple of games of last year I wanted to lose (although I didn't intentionally field a weaker lineup, I did however stop replacing players who were injured or what not).

Well the thing is the draft is no certainty, there is no guarantee that the #1 pick will be the best FF player drafted, sure you give yourself a better chance. I also think the Commish has a responsibility to ensure that owners are playing ethically, if they aren't they should be booted IMO

there has never been tanking in this league.

if i see any funny business i will/have set the rosters myself, although that was for managers that just gave up on their teams.

haven't seen any tanking yet, the managers here have too much integrity for that.

Yeah I'm not saying tanking specifically. But I know I usually make an add/drop each week if I've got injuries or byes or whatever, but if you know you can't make the playoffs - it's hard to justify dropping an underperformer for someone who could give you a good couple of weeks (and potentially move you up the ladder one or two places).

there's nothing wrong with that. but if you're in that position you should be making pickups for next season.

Amazingly, I think I may have all my RBs out this week. Forte on the bye and Williams, Moreno and Addai all injured.

Plus I have Nicks and Jackson on a bye also.
