Sam Kerr didn't even lose a sponsor, did she?

Talk about an overcooked incident. I look forward to her returning as Matilda's captain as soon as match fitness allows.

The Matilda's played a game today - but didn't get as much coverage as other non-soccer related shenanigans
The Matildas are lucky this rubbish was on a friday morning when everyone is at work and no one knew about it.

Been woeful & they have gone massively backwards since there drinking there own bathwater in the world cup.

18 shots to 1 it wasnt even close to competitive.

And while i am at it when are the FFA going to appoint them and the socceroos coach.

Its deadset embarrassing the muppets in there couldn't run a chook raffle that the 2 national teams still have interim coaches.

The Australian Women's cricketers run rings around them with not only Success but Humility & Respect.

A champion team full of class that make our nation proud.

The Aussie woman's cricketer's are indeed brilliant, but people seem to forget that they have a lot less competition than the footballer's. They play against probably 7-8 other countries, as opposed to upwards of 150 national woman's teams for football, which is far more competitive.
The Matilda's are the only Aussie sporting team that pretty much sell out every game they play in this country currently.
I cannot think of another national sporting team here that does this. Maybe our netballers, but their stadiums are tiny in comparison.
No, the Matilda's are not over-marketed or over-hyped as @TheParraboy suggested. They are just hugely popular.
However, their drop in form recently is concerning.

based on this recent match getting next to no publicity it would be hard to say that they are over marketed or over hyped

They have two "friendly's" coming up in April in Australia vs South Korea.
One at Allianz, and one in Newcastle.
The Allianz stadium game is down to single seats in pre-sales. So, again, an almost guaranteed sellout. This with little or no promotion at this stage. They would have got a larger crowd again if it was scheduled at Accor.
The 2nd game is in Newcastle. Not sure about ticket sales for this but I'd again be surprised if it doesn't sell out, particularly if Sam is playing.
For the record, the Socceroos are playing a WCQ vs Indonesia on Thursday 20th March at Allianz. It is already sold out a month in advance.
Like I said, no other code in this country consistently sells out matches for its national teams to this magnitude.

I think we maybe disagreeing on this Suity.

I think with the Women's Asian Cup here next year that will keep the bandwagoners invested for a little longer.

But outside of beating Germany in Germany in a friendly last year which i reckon was there best performance since the world cup there decline in the performances have been been more then alarming.

I would have thought off the back of the World cup where the FFA have invested more money into the Matildas especially off-field with staff & resources that there performances would have at least stabilized and not gone backwards at a rate of knots.

There 3 x Olympics performance was pathetic and this tournament here is probably the 2nd best quality tournament they would have played in since the last world cup. And they got annihilated.

I have said for a while there's a toxic smell about the Matildas of entitlement and arrogance i just don't see with the Aussie girls cricket team. Or any other female national team.

Sam Kerr incident hasn't helped that opinion i have had for a while either.

I think it was the 7s rugby girls who called out the Matildas before the Paris games.

Which was very telling for mine. Since when do fellow athletes call out other teams from there own country especially Australia.

It doesn't help the bandwagoners and i am not pointing at you here but on social media seem to think they shouldn't be criticized and not accountable for poor performance.

The world cup 4th place has lifted expectations weather thats fair or not well its just reality if they want to be known as the biggest brand in Australian football well they have to deliver better and aim higher.

Gee Arsenal blew it again last night to put pressure on Liverpool

Losing to West Ham at Home.

Liverpool and City is a big game i reckon Liverpool will happily take a point from Etihad.
