Someone mentioned to me on Monday the Super Rugby has been back for 2 weeks. I thought he was taking the piss.

I was like really i haven't heard anyone mention it or even realised the super rugby had actually started up again.

The NRL Trials have got more coverage then that shit.

A Triple M radio host has been forced to apologise after comments made about the Matildas on air were widely criticised.

Marty Sheargold, appearing on the show that carries his name on Monday, said he "would rather hammer a nail through the head of [his] penis" than watch the Matildas play in next year's Asian Cup.

Football Australia said it was "deeply disappointed by the unacceptable remarks" while calling for more responsible reporting on women's sport.

Sheargold's rant came alongside co-hosts Troy Ellis and Will Ralston during a news bulletin about the Matildas' recent defeats in the SheBelieves Cup.

"There's something wrong with the Matildas. They had that wonderful tournament out here where we all fell in love with them, even though they didn't make the quarters," Sheargold said of the Matildas' 2023 World Cup campaign, in which they made the semifinals.

"You know what they remind me of? Year 10 girls. All the infighting and all the friendship issues, 'The coach hates me and I hate bloody training and Michelle's being a bitch.'

"Now, I'm sorry to undermine the whole sport, but that's what I think of it so you can stick it up your arse."

Of the SheBelieves Cup, Sheargold said "she believes in what? It better be men".

After making his declaration about the Asian Cup, Sheargold finished off by asking "got any men's sport?"

Sheargold's co-hosts laughed throughout the segment, but Triple M allegedly received a number of complaints after it aired.

I never understood why MMM Sydney would broadcast a show with so called Melbourne comedians from Melbourne in the drive shift in Sydney.
I agree. The guy isn't even remotely funny and the show was AFL biased. I switched off from MMM at 4 pm every afternoon on my way home from work once Sydney started the simulcast show from Melbourne. It was sickening listening to his sidekicks just giggle at his un-funny jokes.
Thank goodness he has just been given his just deserves. MMM have dumped him.

His comments were disgusting regarding the Matilda's.

Made some remarks that some people found unpalatable or disagreed with and has lost his job as a result....

He should've vomited in a cab and smashed its back window after making the comments and then verbally belittled a police officer with smug condescension - might have generated some sympathy for him and allowed him to play on....

I’ve listened to him for years, and enjoyed the show but he overstepped the mark with those comments. He uses that anecdote about driving a nail through his d*** all the time in relation to many things and it’s always tongue in cheek, but in combo with the other comments made it was uncouth and unnecessary.

He’s actually an Eels supporter and prior to his MMM gig was Sydney based for nearly a decade.
