Just checked their site. It seems like broman has taken the reins. I used to like the "broman hour" last year, but everytime he filled in for the full day, when matty had other commitments, he was fairly shitehouse.

I believe 2UE are going to do some sports programming at the weekend this year (Gibbs, Bosley and Andrew Voss, I think), but it will be in the mornings so as not to go head to head with Raaayyy. They say they will have covered all the big sports issues by the time Raaayyy gets on the air.

Ive heard that too, Dean. Its a shame its only on in the morning though, due to the fact that im still in a coma 'till 12ish most saturdays. Nonetheless, i reckon the boys at 2UE do a great job, and it wouldnt surprise me to see their timeslot bumped up a few notches if they're proven to be semi successful. Well i hope it is anyway

I thought their previous Sat sports show in 2002 was great, except for not having any live calls. But too many people just want to listen to Raaayyy regardless of what he actually does. Makes no sense to me - reports that most of Alan Jones' weekday audience is not capable of retuning a radio at weekends are unproven.

So I'll be giving 2UE a go on Saturday mornings and then looking for whatever sport I can get in the afternoons with as little of Raaayyy and his mates as possible.

I used to like the 2002 version of the show too. Not having live calls was a bit of a drag, but Matty's show didnt have them either, and they too, were miles ahead of hadley in terms of listenability

i'd be interested in knowing what the ratings have been like for 'sports today'. I would have thought that it would have really gained momentum since being extended to 2hours. And surely the sports today purists would rather listen to boz, brandy, gibbsy, and voss on the weekends ahead those other schmucks

Let's hope this is the case.

It's one of the most boring sports shows during the footy season.

I reckon' that besides the actual call of the game, they only spend about 20-30% of the show talking about footy. It's always those stupid songs and old recordings of themselves trying to be funny in the past.

Oh, and don't forget all the idiots that call in and ask, "how do you think *insert team here* are going to go this year?" It's like, "please annoint my team Raaayyy".

I bloody hate them! They are usually to the most irritating tune as well and you hear ' all the boys' guffawing about it in the background.

I shake my head when I hear them. Those stupid songs are one of the reasons I hate listening to Hadley. That and the fact he calls every man woman and dog a 'Gibberer' and 'Goose'. I wish he'd shut the Fuck up and call the footy - which is what he's being paid for!!!

ABC do a great job. They call the footy. Nice and simple. No mindless banter amongst each other when you're trying to listen to the game - they save that stuff for half time - also no calling Bozo a drop kick.

They cover the footy. Thats it.

They also cover alot more games then 2GB, and often have the scores of the Super 12 too.
