OT: Covers Band

We should get our own Forum cover band going.
I've got a shocking voice, but what the hell...

Another cover favourite is Mr Jones by Counting Crows
and April Sun in Cuba by Dragon
and I'm not a huge fan of the latest version but What About Me is probably a topical song to play right now

Angel of the Morning Juice Newton
If Bread
I'm on top of the world The Carpenters.
100 children Kamahl
Jake the peg Rolf Harris
Achy Breaky heart Billy Ray Cryus (only two chords to worry about)
Kookaburra Sits in the Old Tree. Traditional.
Celebration of a nation. Let's make it Grand (1988)

These songs are sure to clear the dance floor.

Bitter Sweet Symphony,Holy Grail, and a bit of Neil Diamond goes down well with me.
Dont attempt the Beatles. Nobody can cover them well except a group called Wings. They did a fair job on a few numbers.

Yeah I can do the Stones, but someone earlier suggested I stay well clear.
Still, it can't hurt to know them in case someone requests one!

Love Rears Its Ugly Head by Living Colour always goes down well. Very nice Guitar solo after the first chorus. Can't go wrong with a 355, a wah and a Boogie rig. ;-)

i reckon
Outkasts - Hey Ya! would tear down the venue
the acoustic guitar part is 3 chords, but singing good enough would be a challenge

incredible holc

pete murray is great to chill out to, especially on a sunday afternoon with a few beers

he is like jack johnson, only good

while i'm on jack johnson, i must say, he's f**king awful
i cant stand his big following, he is one of the most monotonous musicians i have ever had the displeasure of listening to
all his songs sound the same, if you've heard one, youve heard them all
i saw him at the ben harper concert at the hordern last year and he was pathetic
and if it wasnt for ben harper, no one would know who this neville is

plus i used to like ben stiller until he starred in that utterly appalling jack johnson film clip
now i'm obliged to hate the guy

jack johnson, what a shocker

Wow - I have really fussy tastes in music, but I quite like JJ. A lot more than Pete Murray anyway. The ultimate chillout music is Bob Marley though. Nothing can beat it.
