Instead, we had politicians who wanted it to go away and billionaire media mogals who would willingly bankroll smear campaigns against the victim, with subplots against political rivals and media rivals.
Those smear campaigns caused the public to take sides and people, without any real substantive knowledge of the matter, had predetermined opinions of guilt or innocence almost always based on their reading habits, political persuasion or both.
As the lead post in Reddit wisely said and borrowed from Justice Lee’s verdict : I bet when it involves politicians, no we wont.
