Doesn't she have her own f**king car?

Probably does, otherwise, how did she get to Caves Beach (holiday house) in the 1st place?
She was going for a long lunch in the Hunter Valley. Wasn't planning on driving.
Much cheaper to get her tax payer funded Kia Carnivale then an Uber at her own expense.
I don't think she thought this through.

Hey Suity. Will you be taking advantage of these free lunches if Dutton gets in?

Bit late to the convo here Re Jo Haylen. Apparently what she did wasn't technically in breach of policy and so that's obviously what has saved her job to this point.... The point is though, why the f**k isn't it against parliamentary policy?? That needs to be amended asap. She mentioned as part of her initial defence over the weekend that pollies have a 24/7 job which could be seen as a justification for using the car and driver the way she did across that Australia Day weekend.... But I'm guessing the tax payers of NSW wouldn't have been getting the best version of Jo Haylen that Saturday night if indeed something needed her attention given she was on the sherbets all afternoon with her girlfriend and their respective hubbies....

Call me a cynic, but I suspect there would be/will be a different angle from some in the media if she does fall on her sword... "If this was a man, he'd still have his job. This is sexism pure and simple" etc etc....

Well she provides left wing support gur Chris Minns who needed that to move into the NSW Labor Parliamentary Head. Guess she won’t be moved on as it’s crucial internally.

wouldn’t be surprised if there are a number of small private uses across both parties, just not many as outrageous and look at me than this one. Anyway Minns does his usual used car salesman pitch, trusts that will be enough for most media as they feed on his profile.

No one is buying that 24/7 argument as even though she is a minister 24/7 she is not on ministerial business all the time.

People distinguish between the time they spend at work (or on work related business) in comparison to matters of a private nature.

She comes across as disconnected, if not a bit conceited and more knowing than us.

One of the things Australians like is humility in our pollies and celebs.

A simple gesture that we meet on even terms whatever walk of life we are in.

We look up to our volunteers, service people, fire fighters etc. We bestow honours, they are not demanded.

And when people tell us it’s ok to use us taxpayers to party on for private reasons, we don’t like it because we wouldn’t do it ourselves if we had the privilege to serve in high office and get paid $330k a year.

She seems very greedy to me not to shell out the equivalent of $4 ( compared to the average Sydney Warner) for her transport.

I don’t think it’s a party issue, but has party consequences.

If I was Albo I would have forced Minns to sack her from the portfolio or this will be his last term. It’s a good time for him to show strength.

Hold a press conference and call on Minns to sack her. It’s called Leadership.

I think Voters would like and respect that.

He can call for it and if Minns doesn’t do it, he can threaten him with the ALP conference or something.

So if this news just in about Haylen using the chauffeur for the kids sports run is true, then it's time up for yet another entitled MP from the "political class".

Doesn't pass the pub test, and she should do the right thing and resign her Transport Ministry. Minns can then look stringer by making sure these types of things are clearly stamped out with changes to the parliamentary expenses policies.

Speakman should also go.
He admitted today that he sent his driver to pick up his dry-cleaning.
Then claimed it wasn't as bad because it was only a short trip.
FMD politicians are clueless.

Speakman is an LNP idiot, until they get someone who holds right of centre positions and is close to a stand up guy in speech and appearance, Speakman looks and sound weak, not good enough when compared to the suave used car salesman speak of Minns

seems common for transport ministers to use the ministerial car service for private use
