You do understand why we bring in immigrants right? It's nothing to do with helping them out.
It's to keep us rich.

or some just want to move here for a better life and "we don't bring them" here, it's totally their choice so we are in fact "helping them out"

not long ago, everyone was an immigrant, except for our first nations people

I'm not fact checking ch 9 news so I will take your word for it.
Have you fact checked your business lunch yet ?

He’s throwing cash around like it’s free.

BTW, it’s for all small businesses that turn over up to $10 million. So you can shelve your BS about me paying for yours.

$1.6b per year. No thanks.

The sheer incompetence of Biden and Harris, along with their blind validation of every group, no matter how controversial or criminal pales in comparison to the recklessness of Trump’s actions.
In Biden and Harris' defense, they were both braindead puppets who had no f**kin clue what was going on and just stood up n said what they were told to .... yeah, its a weak defense for a pair of weak deadshits.

To be fair to the greed party. They don't know how much the lunch plan will cost, just like they don't know how much their nuclear "plan" will cost nor will they tell us how many government workers they're going to cut.

Maybe gina will tell him?

Well I don’t know if indigenous people are “ours.”

We might be “their” immigrants.

We are big on acknowledging elders and stuff, but not very good at preserving their cultures and lands.

And immigration places all kinds of pressures on natural resources, land use and so forth.

But as you might argue, who is going to do the jobs Australians aren’t keen on? Who is going to drive the economy to pay for the care for the old, infirm etc?

I’d be interested in a solution to this apparent impasse.

We’d have to live in a very different world and have very different values I guess.

Had to be, after the wine trip wasn't just a one off - and she was found to be regularly using the public chauffeur for her kids Saturday sport.
She muttered on about “misjudgment”, and“within the rules” totally refusing to accept her culpability without a barrage of qualifiers and disclaimer.

Singularly unable to take responsibility.
Yep, very disappointing performance from a Minister to have been so clueless about the pub test/correct thing to do - even if some or all of the transport use was technically within the current rules.

Her self-defence doesn't sound like someone who went willingly, good on Minns for what would have been a firm hand behind the scenes to achieve this "resignation".

The lines have changed!

I have been notified that I am no longer in the electoral seat of Grayndler. Albo is no longer my current member of Parliament.

Something about population changes or some shit. Now I'm in the electorate of Sydney. Tania Plibersek is my member.
I didn't vote for her, FFS!

Yeah, it went from being presented as a single lapse of judgment (which she and Minns focused on at the start) to an admission of further transgressions -once the fresh evidence was presented.

So caught in a trap

I think you are right that Minns was not quite across it at the start or he would have been more careful.

From a pr point of view, I think he shouldnt have let her give her awful farewell speech and he could have announced it, implying he forced her hand. That would’ve made him seem more in control.

I also think Albo and the feds would have come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Minns could have had a role in the federal election as he was seen to be going ok, now he has to be hidden away.
Wasted asset.

I’m blaming her and her team. If she’s on $330k , spending $750 is chump change to save her career, support Minns and back Albo ( who she worked for).

Anyway, Dutto’s campaign is very ordinary. He doesn’t sound too convinced he’s going to win.

Polls about 50/50 I was reading.

Albo should call it soon while he’s on the up and Dutton is gagging, although I think Trumps revolution might harm Dutto by association. It’s a lot for the world to suck in.

Dutton needs to win 19 seats (from Labor, Greens or Teals) to gain government. I don't think he's performing anywhere near as strongly to achieve that size swing.

Albo/Labor will shed some seats, more than 3 losses means it ends up in minority government territory. Even if Dutton wins 10 seats (and all from Labor) I can't see Dutton negotiating with and winning over enough elected cross-benchers to form the minority government.

So three more years of Albo - although by 18 months in he will announce intention to step down, and by 2 years in a new Labor PM will be in place (with one year to campaign against whoever replaces Dutton after the election).
