Don’t care, union is union comrade.

I thought you said you were neutral.
You can't hide behind the 'I don't care" argument when you are supporting the union.

For your info, at the 11th hour last night, when agreement was almost reached, they then added another claim. A one off payment for $4500 for every rail worker.
Rightly so, the Govt told them to get f**ked.
So then they said PIA was back on with go slows today, and then the govt said that whoever partakes in that, will be docked pay.
So, many of them decided not to come to work.
By this evening, there will have been over 1000 services cancelled today.
Over 600 drivers refused to go to work today.

I guess it's lucky you don't need rail transport to rely on your livelihood.

Appreciate that! hindy111 and yourself bring solid reasoning, and definitely sets the bar high with insightful takes.
Thank you and vice versa.

Im waiting for Gronky to realise 1968 has come and gone.

He’d be good to have a coffee with anyway.

Im not sure where his views come from, but he should read some hard core classical Karl Marx instead of dancing around with these irrational and harmful extremist wokey issues.

Sounds like something you'd hear from a typical CFMEU goon, not from your good self of course.
I support different causes as the issues arise.

Generally unions do the right thing and we forget there is a lot of corruption in corporate Australia and sadly, we’ve seen some bad behaviour in government.

The premier tried to excuse her conduct at first. Even my ex alp ministerial advisor friend said it was horrendous.

Pretty much called it like we did here.

The hating nurses, @Suitman was right, but someone higher up should have been held accountable. Their HR is awful if that’s what we get.

Respect that.

Absolute stupidity that she thought she could get away with it. Wonder who was the whistle blower?

Should be their direct supervisors/management. People higher up would not have a clue as to the political persuasions of their minions several layers below.

HR are pathetic wherever you go.

Perhaps we should all get together and form our own party.
We'd need to start writing some policies
Don't need policies until the week before the election. Attention span of the average voter. They've got more important things to do like "How do I pay for this week's groceries?"

I've told this story before about unions.

When I was in the Anzac bridge project we needed to shut power off for a day which effected 60+ workers. We happily agreed to do it on the RDO. Being a contractor I didn't mind. They also offered us compensation to do it which wasn't really necessary but a nice gesture.
Then the union rep got wind. Made a few calls and it was cancelled.
Instead 60 guys basicaly sat in the lunch shed all day while 2 or 3 of us contractors did the shut down.

At a guess of approx $500 per workers that's 30k of taxpayers money.(government job)
Could of donated that to a charity or homeless person.
