I haven't been to Japan but one of my brothers lived there for 12 months before covid hit and he couldn't recommend the place highly enough. And some friends have been as well.

I've worked for Japanese developers and they are so polite and nearly always pay up front. They are so good to work for.

They tell me stories about Japanese constructions sites where tradies knock off work at 4.30 and just down tools and go home, none of this locking all your tools in the demountables and sheds. Next day they get to work, always on time then just pick up their tools and back to work. There is no theft on thier construction sites and any dishonest people over there are disgraced and humiliated, so it just doesn't happen and their construction sites are so very productive.

My son is also going to tour Japan soon, sounds like an incredible country.

Absolutely. I can’t cop them. Give me a Pom anyday over a frog. At least Pommies are funny.
Well I have spent quite a bit of time in France over the past 30 years. only cos Mrs Gronk's uncle, aunt, cousin + his fam have lived their since she was a little girl. So during that I time I have got to know their neighbours when they lived in (West Ryde) Paris and now in Bordeaux. I agree that when you are touristing in Paris, you might get the odd rude taxi driver or shop keeper, but I think the tone in this thread since this morning is way off. I have only met decent people.

I’ve met two Ukrainians in my lifetime. One was a f**kwit the other the nicest man you’d ever meet. Based on this sample I’m happy to give half of Ukraine to the Russians.
