The data from Bennelong and Parramatta (both highly modified boundaries , recently) is starting to flow in. Maybe Penny has had a few mass Citizenship parties or something lately?

My opinion for what it's worth

The polls started to really turn around the time the election was called, and everyday voters actually tend to think about politics at election time.

The press also changed tack from basically giving Dutton a free ride and hammering the government, to questioning Dutton's and the LNP's policies, and for the most part the governments agenda is already out there, it's all just sweeteners being announced so there'sd less of a focus.

On detail Dutton's been a dud, he's just done his best to avoid answering this line of questioning. And the killer there for Spud is he's reminding the electorate why we f**ked off the government he was part of last time.

So now that they are paying attention beyond a few soundbites, they just don't like what they see

Then that's compounded by the whole Trump thing, it makes for very uncertain times, people tend to stick with the known when it looks like the world could be turning to shit, and I think the LNP's earlier latching on to Trumpisms is hurting them in this space as well.

True, forgot about those... My local area skews very heavily one way.

I think the Greens vote may be in danger of collapsing this time - I feel they've been abysmal, and are due for a new leader.
