One of my closest mates today is convinced Israel carried out the music festival attacks just so they could do what they are doing. He isn't the only one suggesting it.
I told him it sounds like he is slowly being radicalised if he believed that.

Have you seen the aerial footage of Gaza from a Jordan aid plane released in the last day or so? Compare what's been done to Gaza to the music festival, and that could be enough to radicalise most people - into marching across a bridge to promote ceasefire and peace, at least.

Not at all.
I have been to what was the formally Soviet Union. 1991, just after the Berlin wall fell.
You may not believe this, but I have actually been inside the Kremlin.
I visited many formally Soviet dominated and communist controlled countries.
The people of what then became Russia were the most miserable humans I have ever met. I did not meet one happy person, and I met a lot of them. Rudest, crankiest and most angry people ever. Moscow and St Petersburg, Minsk and Smolensk were beautiful cities architecturally. Their people however, were not nice.
Yet the people released from the former Soviet Union countries, such as the Czechs, Polish, Estonians, Lithuanians, Romanians and formally East Germans etc.... were some of the friendliest people I have ever met. They all felt relief after not being under control of 50 years of communism.
The people of now are the areas of what is Russia were appalling.
Nothing has changed.
For the record, I did not visit Kyiv, or any part of the Ukraine.
