...which in fairness, did happen quite a bit.
It wasn’t resolving itself was it?
These are complex things that can take time.
At least he’s trying, he’s doing the right thing.
More death and destruction imminent I’d say.
It doesn’t matter what he says as a showman and all his carry-on.yeah, thanks Donny, remember when you said it was going to take 1 day ?
I don’t think he is trying. He’s just looking for a quick symbolic victory. It’s all staged - big on talk and bravado, less on genuine negotiation between two impacted parties. It doesn’t matter what he says as a showman and all his carry-on.
What matters is that he’s trying.
There’s many thousands of people currently getting shot at and blown up on both sides who hope he succeeds.

The difficulty with that argument is what I pointed out to TwuzI don’t think he is trying. He’s just looking for a quick symbolic victory. It’s all staged - big on talk and bravado, less on genuine negotiation between two impacted parties.
Putin is outsmarting him and he will inevitably throw Ukraine under the bus. Ultimately, he’d be better off leaving it alone, but he needs a distraction from all of the domestic problems he is facing.
I gave Gary the answer below.Hard to beleive anyone would get sucked into his rants and distractions and moreso, why you keep defending him.

I just don’t understand why so many here are flogging him for trying.
It’s apparent we will never reach agreement on this issue.
But spare me the rude inferences and I’ll hold back too, I’m not your enemy.
A pretty slim one and it introduces the very real risk of things becoming much worse, both in the region and globally. The difficulty with that argument is what I pointed out to Twuz
Left to themselves, the war has continued on.
So him intervening represents a chance to resolve it.
I’m not flogging him, but to say that you ‘don’t understand’ where I have pointed out issues is interesting. I’ve made a very clear case as to why I question his motives and sincerity.I just don’t understand why so many here are flogging him for trying.

It’s like people who voted no in the voice referendum because they “didn’t understand what they were voting for” when the decision was very clear. It’s basically admitting that you have a one-dimensional view of the issue and you aren’t willing to embrace other positions.
Give me some reasons why my logic on this is flawed and why I should believe he is genuinely trying to make a difference. I’m open to it, but all you keep doing is saying “He’s trying. Give him a break”, which isn’t really an argument.

Yeah, Putin pack up and go home. There's only one person in the world who can stop this war and he indeed COULD do it in a day.
