I’m going to pretend you didn’t ask that question.

Why?

At this stage despite all the finger pointing we don't have anything confirmed regards the killer or the motive. It's all very well to say ah yeah well you know this thing or that thing makes sense, so it's more than likely true, sure.

But the potential flaw in that thinking is that we're dealing with an event that doesn't necessarily make sense, and we are very likely dealing with a non-rational actor, so it's very possible that the motive will also prove to be non-rational, therefore what you might consider to be obvious reasoning, might well turn out to be complete dogshit.

Generaly speaking I'd suggest people with nothing to lose are the most dangerous. I don't think it has anything to do with politics tbh. Once people have lost hope in life they become very hard to control/keep in line.

Anyone who thinks murder or violence is the answer is more likely to have psycholigal issues moreso than political or religious.

I dont get why people want to take the opportumity to take cheap shots at one side of politics because of the actions of 1 unkown person.

I feel sorry for anyone involved with his family and for their loss.

it was the streets of Paris and we have done a flash mob in Sydney, at Circular Quay,

Cool. I was aware of Sydney flash mobs - but really meant ones staged like that one in Paris, using a (non-grotty) little town square, and the windows on the different levels of neighbouring (non-grotty) apartment buildings etc.

The ones at the Quay and Opera House steps are fine and fun - but Paris is such a lovely city, and that flash mob performance was a level above!

Unfortunately most people have already made up their mind on what happened. If the eventual reasons come out and they don't align with what they think then it will be blamed on a 'conspiracy theory' or incompetent Government Departments.

US Politics is bat shit crazy.

Of course they have, and for many you'll find it isn't about dealing in anything other than how can I use it to further my preferred narrative.

If the eventual reasons come out and they don't align with what they think then it will be blamed on a 'conspiracy theory' or incompetent Government Departments.

Or they'll just dismiss any evidence contrary to that which serves the above.

US Politics is bat shit crazy.

Yep, sure is, though this guy for mine is ( was ) a piece of work, and is a victim of what he himself helped create, so I won't be wasting my time on thoughts and prayers.

Anyways, you think it's crazy now, it's not like this is the first political assassination in the US, but it is the first time it's a true MAGA identity, and this will give them licence. Make no mistake, they'll bleed this for all it's worth and then some.

I utterly disagreed with the vast majority of his opinions, but no matter how much anyone disagrees with someone it shouldn’t result in death.

I feel for his children and wife.

not sure where this all ends. Whole world is a clusterf**k right now
If you know his opinions you should be embarrassed by your level of interest in American politics.

In the spirit of honesty - i spoke out of turn a little earlier when i said i disagreed strongly with the vast majority of what Charlie Kirk posted and his opinions.

I guess i myself had been somewhat conditioned by the headline grabs the media often used and attributed to him and that had formed my entire understanding of what he was and what he stood for. However today in the the outpouring of grief (and in some cases jubilation - something for which i will never understand) my social media feeds have been flooded with videos and tidbits from Charlie - some of which that i actually do resonate with quite strongly. It's shown to me that sometimes you need to dig a little below the surface and do your own research rather than relying on others opinions or allowing the media to dictate the lens you view someone, or something, through.

So i'd like to rephrase my initial comments (rather than go and edit a post). I strongly disagree with some of Charlie's opinions and views - namely gun control, some of the MAGA values and the Palestine/Israel conflict - however his thoughts on the importance of Christian values in the world, whether you are religious or not, his opinions on the importance of family, and the horrible societal devaluation of the importance of the father figure in raising children are thoughts i not only share but advocate for. He was big on everyone having a voice, even if he disagree with it - and i respect that.

What hasn't changed is the sorrow i feel for his family and friends, and the anger that such violence is not only possible, but almost expected in today's world.

Well said. There was plenty he said that I agreed with as well.
