Without the meddling from Iran it is likely that post Saddam Iraq would be in a much better position for its people. It seems that right throughout the middle east the Iran regime has been an obstacle to peace.

Many people think that without the Iranian regimes meddling, the October 7 attacks don't happen and thus the Israeli response doesn't have to happen.
Listening to anyone within the Iranian regime talk about Israel is actually a sickening thing to sit through. They don't hold back on the desire to wipe Israel out of existence.
Hopefully we can now have peace in Israel, Iran, Gaza, Iraq etc. Unlikely though.

You're a lightweight because you don't do anything other than randomly pop in and swear like a shopping centre eshay about nothing really in particular. If you have nothing to contribute, I suggest that you get a few more off your chest and then f**k off
Your biggest flaw and the reason why nobody respects you is your continual holding of grudges on a faceless, semi-anonymous forum.

It’s genuinely pathetic. People can disagree—that’s normal—but you take it to another level by carrying on like a bitter, nasty piece of shit over pixels and usernames.

All you really achieve is dragging down the forum experience for the overwhelming majority.

Albo accused of 'undermining global security'

Natalie Brown
The Jewish Council of Australia has urged the Albanese Government to reconsider its “deeply concerning” endorsement of America’s strikes on Iran, as federal politicians dodged questions this morning over the legality of US military action.

In a statement on Instagram, the organisation said it “stands in solidarity with all people caught in the current military assault on Iran”.

“Civilian lives, including children, have already been lost, and the escalation risks broader regional conflict,” it read.

So the Jewish Council of Aus doesn't agree with Albo endorsement of the USA..

It's right support the Jewish Council of Australia. Good to see you on board. 👍

This is very much big brother has thrown his weight around so we’ve just agreed with whatever he’s done. But very obviously anyone can just change Iran to Ukraine and call US Russia.
At what point do we start calling this current period WW3?

It's getting close, we have Russia attacking Ukrain , Pakistan v Afghanistan US Israel v Iran...

Someone needs to wake up on the wrong side of the bed and we are all f**ked

Yeah America likes the OIL. They want the $$$ and im sure will benefit from this financially.
Of course freeing the Iranian people is a good story and also a great reason to go in and get that oil. That's purely business. Just like in Venezuela. But it doesnt necessarily make it bad for the general civilians living there does it?
Lets just see how the cookie crumbles before we go off half cooked. Albo and Wong are supporting the attacks and they are hardly war mongers

The issue I have is that we are talking about war, we are talking about at least thousands of innocent folk dying and I don't believe for a second either Trump or Netanyahu give two fifths of a f**k for the Iranian people.

History tells us that US regime change in the ME has never worked for the people, their failure rate is literally 100%, why would this time be any different?

It's all very well and good to say well it just might work, and it just might work out for the Iranian people, but just might is not a solid reason to go to war and risk the lives of potentially millions of people. There are alternatives, like international engagement, which can bring about change.

This is war we are talking about, not a f**king coin toss, it's bloody it's brutal, and many good people will die.

You have zero evidence of the Americans or Israelis not caring about the Iranian people. Just your prejudice. BTW innocent people have died in every war known to man. It’s shit but sometimes it’s necessary in stopping a deranged monkey having access to a machine gun.

This is just silly.

It worked well in Israel, which is the best country for its people in the middle east. Israel is also peaceful with Jordan the main Palestinian state.

Something had to be done about the nuclear program and also the treatment of Iranians trying to protest. There is a good argument that this is what had to happen.

"NSW Premier Chris Minns described the mourning events as “atrocious”.

“By any objective measure, the ayatollah was evil, and I don’t think we should be mincing words about this,” Mr Minns told The Australian on Monday.

“The truth of the matter is, weeks ago he and his regime were responsible for killing 30,000 protesters within that city, for simply demonstrating against the regime and their practices."

But where is the democracy in all this? Trump didn't even go to Congress, let alone the UN. It was unilateral action by a president/despot ruler - well two of them, in concert.

Not much different to the style of long-term actions of the Iranian supreme leader that we are trying to free the Iranian people from...

If we (the western world "we") are trying to promote democracy in places like Iran, shouldn't our decision making on actions of such impact should at least follow some basic democratic process, maybe just as an example...?

For one, I didn't say "the Americans or Israelis" I said Trump and Netanyahu, and I have their actions over time, Netanyahu has been trying to convince the US to go to war with Iran since the f**king nineties mate, always with "the nukes are only x months away", and Trump was f**king minutes away from war with Iran in his first term, but cooler heads prevailed.

At any rate, Trump has specifically stated the reason for the invasion is to stop Iran's nuclear program, not to free the Iranian people, you know, the same f**king nuclear program they eliminated six f**king months ago aparently.

BTW innocent people have died in every war known to man.

True, this is one of the reasons that I am opposed to nation states starting wars, the powerful profit, the innocent pay, there really is nothing good to say about war.

sometimes it’s necessary in stopping a deranged monkey having access to a machine gun.

There was an alternative, it was in place, and appearing to work. Trump ripped it up in his first term, went back on the deal, and Iran accelerated it's program in response. Yet they still don't have nukes. Again I point to Netanyahu's 30 years of crying wolf mate.

So f**k right off with the idea that it is necessary or that there is no alternative, because there is always alternatives and it is not nessecary.

I f**king wonder how many here would be so f**king gung ho about war if it was their children in the meat grinder.

One, that was the British, and two, yeah it's working it's f**king arse off, 70 years of conflict and counting into a genocide, yay. Sucess!

Something had to be done about the nuclear program

See my response to Avenger above, I have no desire to repeat myself.

and also the treatment of Iranians trying to protest.

Again it will end in shit, you don't bomb your way to peace. There is always an alternative to war.

There is a good argument that this is what had to happen.

Yet here you are failing to articulate it in any convincing manner, there is no good argument for war.

@85 Baby do you wear Ralph Lauren polo shirts?

An "eshay" is an Australian youth subculture, often associated with antisocial behavior, petty crime, and a distinct fashion style. Typically young, suburban males (or "lads"), they are recognized by wearing brands like Nike (specifically Air Max TNs)Adidas, and Ralph Lauren polo shirts, often wearing bumbags and sporting mullets

That’s a weak argument because it relies on emotion instead of logic. Saying “there are always alternatives” doesn’t prove any actually exist or would work. And the “your kids in the meat grinder” line is just an appeal to emotion, not a rebuttal to the argument that sometimes war can be necessary.

War being horrific doesn’t automatically mean it’s avoidable or unnecessary.

Singing ‘Give peace a chance’ whilst pulling on your cone won’t do shit, either.

The International Atomic Energy Agency says Iran had become non-compliant (and as you said in the highlight and the IAEA agrees) accelerated its program and that the amount of material Iran has is unprecedented for any nation without weapons intent and could make 9 nuks promptly.

It is always Trumps fault to your type...like Gronk earlier trying to say its Trumps fault thousands of protesters got shot by the Iranian regime.
