Just heard on 2UE rumour mill, Manly chasing Bird really hard for 2017 and even trying to get him to Manly in 2016. Meanwhile either Mullholland is gone or staying and nobody knows for sure, but who will fill in his shoes and have the Dragons tried to get him too? I thought he was big mates with Dugan???

Why should Dragons supporters give a f**k about Jack Bird? Having said that, with a dominant playmaker like Cherry-Evans, Bird could probably be very good. Widdop could be as well if he stepped the f**k back and allowed Benji to be the main playmaker.

Look Bird has gone and is no longer part of our team going forward.Lets all move on.The way this kid is going he will have several clubs in the coming years and one gets the impression is he will never be satisfied.

7th tackle has Mulholland working hard right now in trying to get Jack Bird back and he wants to come back.

Benji Marshall and Widdop are essentially the same type of players, both running 5/8's. Neither are organising halves.

When Marshall won the comp, he had a dominant 7 alongside him in prince. When he won golden boot in 2010 again he had Lui playing 7. And what happened when sheens switched him to 7 at the tigers? Disaster. He is a 5/8, not a halfback.

Bird has spoken to sharks officials regarding his future at the club due to Maloney coming in. Bird is keen to continue to play at 6 hence the concern with Maloney signing.

Therefore why would he come to dragons where Widdop is first choice 6? Makes sense to play at the Eagles with Foran moving on..

Wouldn't it make more sense to play Maloney at 7, and keep Bird at 6??

Seriously doubt they would move him on just to keep Robson. If he has a good start to next year, he could be knocking on the door of Origin along with Austin. Certainly these two are better options than Pearce and Reynolds.

Sharks would be mad not to keep him. Only we make those sorts of mistakes.

They have signed Townsend and Maloney.

Benji is only signed till the end of next year I believe. Surely at his age we wouldn't sign him up,again. Why not Widdop at half and Bird at 5/8?

Widdop to fullback

May sound crazy however I would like to see the following occur ASAP

Duges to Centre

Bird to Half, and then Five Eight when Marshall leaves

Marshall Five Eight

Dufty to wing till Widdop leaves then Full Back

Braith Anasta played the game with such a refreshing attack in his first season

hammy lets see if Bird can do they same in the second year

any one can crab across the field

not players are allowed to do this as the best teams eat it for breaky

Here is bit of a interview with Bird as to where he wants to play .

Bird shifted from St George Illawarra with a view to cementing a spot in the centres. Instead, he was given the No.6 jersey that was initially earmarked for Barba, who will make a timely return from injury on Sunday. "No, not at all, I didn't think I was going to play five-eighth for the Sharks," he said. "I came here as a centre but I can play five-eighth and enjoy it. I'd probably pick five-eighth over centre, you get a bit more ball.

Correct and that is their preferred halves combination, no guarantee Robson will be at the Sharks next season.

Fair enough, but my comment still stands.

Not sure how wise it would be to move on a talent like Bird just to keep Townsend and/or Robson. Bird would have a lot more upside to me given his youth (unless there are concerns about his health).

Not sure how he'd go as a first choice centre. Six is definitely his spot.
