HD - I am on 100mb cable down, using an Nvidia Shield (Android TV box) to play it.

Might be the reason i don't have any issues. I'm not sure what bitrate it requires before it goes to ballz.

I certainly wouldn't be running it over wifi if you can avoid it.

f**ked if I know. I don't really have an option but to run it over wi-fi and chrome cast though so kind of gives me the shits.

Well the good thing is that it can be cancelled at any time. I'll give it a few more weeks, see if it improves, then decide whether to keep it or not.

Foxtel have *always* struggled with streaming services. For me, Kayo isn't too bad and doesn't screw up too much.

This is what I'm trying to work out that's all. I have nbn25/12 on fixed wireless as I'm out in the scrub. My tele is about 10 to 15m away from my router. When I cast trough my mobile to Chromecast it gets so pixelated every minute or so. If I cast through the laptop it doesn't get as pixelated but will stop and buffer every few minutes.

Is it worth upping the NBN to 50 or just bite the bullet and go back to foxtel. There's some good deals at the moment.

When trying to stream through my browser it is not great. When streaming via Apple TV it is perfect HD and doesn't skip a beat. I just stick to the Apple TV now and am very happy with the service.

I was just going through this issue too, I rang the telco and apparently I was connecting my phone to a shit wifi frequency.

I did a speedcheck on my phone connected to the Wifi, next to the router was appropriate speeds, out in the living room was horseshit. Hence Foxtel now and Kayo streamed like shit through Chromecast.

Once I realised there was a different frequency I could connect to on the router, all of a sudden it's fast as hell in the living room and Kayo was flawless since.

I don't know your set up but try a speed test next to the router off your mobile and then where you would watch kayo and see if there's a speed difference before upgrading.

If there is, call the telco, they may be able to help you there first.

That's probably because every man and his dog is on the default frequency.

Definitely an easy test / fix that one.

But RE NBN 25/12 .... yeah i couldn't handle that, if there's a good deal i'd be upping.

Australia seems incapable of running a streaming service.

Ch9, Ch7, Foxtel, Kayo far from surprising Australian IT people think they are world class, truth is they are third rate putzes incapable of designing a system to take the load.

No issues streaming You tube, Netflix etc etc.

Consistent failure from anything Australian run.

It is not you it is them.

Don't believe me, run Netflix or You tube next to any Australian based service and watch it fail constantly while the US run ones do not miss a beat.

I have cable at home and have had no issues with Kayo other than for the early game last Friday, which was a server issue at Kayo, not my internet.

streaming to tv from my phone whilst also charging it. The phone overheats with 15 minutes to go and shuts everything down. Did we win in the end?
