From the Sydney Morning Herald today:

COSTLY BLOWS I: When Monty Betham played at the Warriors, his pugilistic skills earned him the reputation as the most-feared player in the NRL and the former New Zealand junior boxing champion showed English fans why last weekend by unleashing a series of right hooks on Castleford's Ryan McGoldrick that resulted in him being sent off. Betham's Wakefield teammate, former Roosters forward Ned Catic, also received his marching orders for a Zinedine Zidane-style headbutt. Catic was suspended for three matches, while Betham got a two-game ban.

Betham is an idiot. He was supposedly the captain at the warriors but couldn't help himself trying to show everyone how tough he is.

He hardly showed them why, the big cat threw a few nothing punches while Goldy was on the ground. I never really understood the whole hype around Betham, good fighter yes but most feared man in the NRL???
Look at the fight he had with McGuire, threw a couple of average rights and left himself wide open, if McGuire wasn't such a little piss ant he may have dropped him.
f**k Betham, sh%thouse player and a bullyboy, he'll be overly agressive with the wrong bloke one day and get his ass handed to him.
On another note, did anyone watch Castleford play Hull??? a couple of weeks ago? Gray Viane (ex-tiger) landed a great haymaker on a big pommy fella

What was he suppoosed to do DS? He was on the ground from the tackle with another bloke holding him down while Monty, the cheap shot merchant, layed cheapies on him.

There is certainly a cat here and the name is Phillips. Look at your location loser -- can't get the single girls heh? As has been said before, the gutless coward Betham was brave while Ryan was on the ground but as the other pommy frontrower found out, in a stand up MAN to MAN fight he wouldn't have stood a chance -- same as you, you gutless turd.

That's definately a send off. Obviously zuess's sledging, for which he is widely renowned, did the trick and he got the result he wanted by tipping betham over the edge.

ironically, It was Betham who saved 4 sharks players skins in an auckland bar a few seasons ago after they were about to get the full once were warriors treatment late at night.

Good stuff. Though i cant remember who it was on, but i thought Ian Roberts hit on a Kiwi palyer in a test would have made that reel.
