Vlandys should not get involved if players want to go let them go, they should not be trying to stop them.
I fear the NRL will offer players outside of cap to stay, that's the last thing we want, if they want to go let them go, they can be replaced

What concerns me PVL may decide he wants to try and retain certain players.
To me know player is more important then another

Is it saudi public investment funding or whatever its called like the liv golf, soccer and boxing? They'll just throw eye watering sums at it and it won't even make a dent how much of a loss it makes.

And like liv golf and saudi pro league soccer no one will watch it

I’ve said on the NRL page, the bigger risk isn’t losing players to that game (we’ll lose a few, but our game is strong enough to do so), the bigger risk is that player agents will (and already are) clearly use R360 as a negotiation tool, which will then drive up NRL contract values. That probably won’t harm the top clubs too much, but the bottom clubs will find it even harder to recruit out of trouble. Let’s use Munster as an example, we all know he’d stay at storm for less money than he’ll get elsewhere, so let’s say Storm value him at $1m, a crap NRL team are going to have to pay him probably $1.4m, but then R360 offer him $1.8m - his agent will be using the $1.8 offer to drive up crap NRL teams offer to closer to the $1.8m mark, and that’s before we start talking about potential tax loopholes available to R360 players.
On that basis, in my view, the NRL have to engineer a consequence that says if you leave rugby league for another sport, you can’t have a new NRL contract for 3 years. That way, players won’t take the risk for 12 months of good R360 money knowing they’ll get a gig back at NRL anytime, which will reduce the lure of R360 and the bargaining power it gives the agents.

I have minimal care about this competition
but I do have a prediction.
As it is getting rejected by both the Rugbys, Union and League, it will form it's own rules to try and make it more entertaining (by Union standards).
My prediction is: They will change the traditional Rugby Union rules and bring in differences they see in Rugby League for entertainment value, making it a true hybrid Rugby Sport.
I'll leave it at that.

Love it by PVL.

He does have some good points. There is zero pathways or plan outside of "piracy". I would love to know what legal shit went down before they came up with that ban idea.

ARU should be praying for this to happen to help them should it get successful (as if world rugby would exclude them from tests if everyone went).

Perfect response from the NRL. We cannot allow outside organisations to effectively steal our assets (the players) that we’ve invested heavily in, or artificially drive up the cost of keeping those players (as every agent will have an R360 price that they throw into every contract negotiation moving forward).
This cuts the head of the snake - if challenged in Court, this stance probably would be deemed a restraint of trade, however, it’s going to be a very brave player who’d choose to challenge it at this point, given R360 is nowhere near a certain thing. And surely the RLPA ain’t gonna whinge about this - as players being able to leave the NRL would do them harm.

This has to be a restraint of trade, you would hope that Oakvale Capital and LIV who it seems are involved challenge this immediately.
How can you ban a player from playing in the NRL.
Yea players could go we could lose example Ramien I am sure the NRL can replace players elite players like him, there is no player who would leave that is going to effect clubs.
Quick glance say Dragons Holmes leaves they replace him.
I say let them go, this is just PVL trying to throw his weight around as normal

So if Walsh or Haas left Broncos it wouldn't affect them?

Cleary the Panthers?

Grant or Hughes the Storm?

How about when players switch clubs or walk out to other codes you replace them.

We lost Matt Rogers, and Tian Strauss we had to move on.

Cleary has been rumoured to be leaving now for a while anyway, a gap year in super league.

There are fullbacks a plenty around

What a crock.

Broncos dont win the comp without Walsh.

Take the top players out and the quality of the team and league drop.

So Walsh drinks the kool aid and signs a 5 year with the evil alt league.
2 years in he is dissolutioned with the whole thing and wants to come back.
PVL gonna stand in his way like Dark Vader?
All a NRL smokescreen.
PVL would be more like Dark Helmet. No clout and all panic.
More policy on the run
