OT- Storm forward passes

This game against tigers today, one huge forward pass by Cronk try, Smith passes at best line ball all called ok, Storm get benefit of doubt so often.

Cronk/SMith get treated by refs very differently to Ennis/Gallen

Smith has been getting away with it for 10 years, the refs aren't going to change the way they ref them.

In the finals, we will have to deal with it.

Best way to make the pass look forward is to smash the prick as he passes it & drive him back, even if it means giving away a penalty or 2.

Touchies have an easy job these days with the introduction of the video ref & the only real job they have in the general run of the game is rule on forward passes.

But f**k me, they miss so many!

Remember the days when touchie would come on to report foul play they dont even do that now.

The forward passes they seem to let certain players and teams more room to move

Today's was on of the worst I've seen, he literally passed it to Chris Lawrence who was in such shock it went through his hands and they still said it went back

Not only foward passes were missed but blatant foul play, at one point in the game a Storm player carrying the ball raised his forearm collecting the Tigers player plum on the face and nothing was done about it.

One reason they allow all this for the Storm - Scared shitless of Craig Bellamy ranting in their faces in their private meetings he calls for.

Kaaarnts are a bunch of kaaarnts.

If the blind touchies are doing their job, the bunker doesn't need to get involved.

They are side on to the action, they should see it. The bunker cannot always tell if it's up 1 end.

Da f**k? The bunker watches about 17 different camera angles. If we can tell at home it's 2 metres forward so can they.

We had it before when the video ref could rule on forward passes & it was a pain in the arse & didn't work.

It won't work this time either - we have Patten in the bunker.

Patten should have said forward pass taken by Melbourne decision stands try, that would have been classic.

There was also a chicken wing tackle in first half near Storm goal line again nothing said

Only way they can allow the bunker to rule on forward passes is with technology to make it beyond doubt, surely the offside line used in soccer coverage could do the job?

Card the reason why it didnt work was due to the lack of camera angles

I think it's more to do with judging whether the ball is thrown forward or floats forward with the forward movement of the passer.

Dummy half passes, where he is stationery, a line could be used however it's too hard to tell with the passer moving forward, particularly a long pass, which could float metres forward.

Besides how boring would it be to scrutinise every flat pass in every pass leading up to a try.

Linesman should just do their job FCOL

if they can rule on whether a player is offside from a kick they can rule on forward passes.

It's the whole backwards out of the hands, floating forwards that is next to impossible to tell without 40,000 camera angles. We'll never get out of the bunker.

Leave it with the inept linesmen
