Thats highly debatable JC, one is the 3rd oldest city in qld with a lot of history and heritage buildings, where 500K will buy you a grand old queenslander on the river.

The other a cesspool of unemployed halfwits and a haven for unwed mothers with children to multiple fathers. 400K will buy you a GJ gardener dog box in one of the many sprawling estates, where you can live next to some of the aforementioned, and wake up to the glorious sound of a hotted up VK commodore being worked on at 7am on a sunday morning.

I will concede one thing, hervey bay usually has hordes of backpackers that are passing through on the way to fraser, however the locals who generally have no teeth, a beergut, and a trendy short front and sides haircut, don't have much of chance of scoring.

Hahahaha you seem to have munch Hatred for the Bay. One would suspect you come from Maryhole, Bundaberg or even worse, Gympie.

Hervey Bay is the next Sunny Coast.

Your right about the Bogans though, there are a few.

But the beach is a good perve and your a stonr throw from great fishing and boating.

 No I don't "come" from any of them, i have a pub in maryborough and a farm on the river at tiaro, and you're right i can't stand hervey bay, every time I go there i am reminded as to why we need birth control.

I'm not overly fussed on maryboring either, but the lack of things for people to do makes for a good business opportunity.

Anyway next time you are in the Bay let me know and I'll drag you down here and force a good steak into you :)

Yeah the Pubs and Bottle Shops in that whole area make a killing.

I remember when I was in yaer 10 riding to the bottleshop to get our booze for the weekend cause there was f**kall to do. Start em young. Haha.

I aint been back home since January. Will be back fro two days in december before flying down to Sydney to hang at Cronulla for a few days and down to Cullburra.

At least Maryhole had the worlds biggest pub crawl. For a pissant town it certainly did alright with numbers!!

Make sure you head to Goldy for the Tits match as well.

Frenzy.

Having just come back from a weekend down the coast, I have discovered a great renovated pub on the way home.
Looking for somewhere to have lunch, we stopped at Towradgi Beach Hotel, which for those that don't know is the hell hole that owns 'Waves' niteclub. It has been seriously reno'd, half a dozen guards on at lunchtime on Sunday keeps the local dero f*ckwits out of the place, the beer is superb, the meals fantastic and live music all day Sundays. And yes, you guessed it, another top notch beer garden.
Shame its so far away.

In no particular order:

Newport Arms - last time I was there had a beach girl comp - an outstanding afternoon.
The Caxton - Origin night is huge.
Breakfast Creek - Food and beer.
Yamba - Great view, arrived by boat and had a great feed - kept going back.
Sleezebreeze - Rest in Peace - Was more outstanding if you could pick up a local (from just down the road) and didn't have to take the long walk over the bridge and home.

The best local as I grew up was the Caringbah with there bands and later Dingoes.
