I know Titans are hot and cold, but it was good to see them beat the Cowboys…
Campbell, Brimson, Kini - played great instinctive footy.
Foran injured again - he should come back as a bench utility…

Frenzy.

Have either Bennett or Robinson coached a team to the spoon?

Both are a chance this year.

Ricky will have his say in it as well I reckon.

Trials are an amazing time,
For the ones whose hearts have been broken,
over and over.

Mick Ennis put it in perspective for me in this last game between the Cows and the Storm.
He said something along the lines of "of they would have been looking at video to see what defensive system they were using"
I mean truly...... wtf?
Any team with half a clue has not looked at a video of the opposition for the trials.
Trials are there for the coach, and team, to test stuff out.
Now with them all being televised some teams are placing more emphasis on them, and not for the good of the team, for the good of their supporters, and the media, to take a narrative.
Eg: Sticky had his players only play 20-30 mins against us, they were instructed to go all out in attack in their time on the field, so they did, and they got the goods.
Ole Stick did not want to expose the teams flaws too early in the season, and there are many as he has the most inexperienced NRL squad going into this season.

On the other token,
The two best sides in the Trials have probably been the Goons and the Donkeys.
The similarity? Their coaches situation.

One, Flange, cannot afford to have his side being mediocre at the start of the season because of his contract situation (it ends at the end of next year). He needs his lads playing fired up footy until at least July. I'm Not sure if it'll get that far as they aren't as good as what their fans have been fooled into believing.
Two, Madge, well it's pretty easy this one. He's got plenty of ego to prove that he can actually coach an NRL side, not just a rep side (NZ and NSW).
And to be more real, to coach THE biggest club in the NRL.
If he doesn't have them in the finals, at a minimum, then all he'll be remembered for is starring in that Z Grade series, TigerTown.

Tallis is sweating on Madge failing as he has pointed out his recent club record and mate of Walters

Which if any coach gets sacked ?

This could be big question if Trent leaves Roosters, will they make play for us to release Fitz for 2026

Ummm…. Fitz is going nowhere. I’m not sure what would make you think that the Rorters would target Fitz especially given he’s locked into a long term contract. I will say it’s gonna be an absolute pleasure seeing the Roosters doing their best to avoid the spoon. I really can’t understand how they haven’t put some succession plan in place. They won’t recover from this massive turnover of players for a couple of years imo. Chad certainly isn’t the answer.

Flange is busting his arse to try and ensure the Goons earn some credibility in the early part of the season. I wouldn’t get too excited about the dragons trials. The Roosters only played 1 or 2 of their top 17 from last year and Newie put that form into perspective today. The Rabbits are also decimated by injury atm yet still put 5 tries straight on the goons in the middle of the game. The Dragons will start ok but are very vulnerable for depth and skinny in the forwards overall. They will need a really good run injury wise this year to challenge for the 8 imo.

Can’t wait for the Dargons to play the Donkies this season.

That game will have spice.

Already references have been made of Ben Hunt’s departure from the Dargons and that Flanno said that Ben Hunt kept making the same mistakes.

Also can we refer to the Dargons as the John West Dargons.

So many rejected players in that team lol.
