I was most impressed by the Knights, only because they definitely showed improvement from last year. The rest looked pretty much exactly the same ie: not much to look at.

Both got once in a generation halfbacks and took their opportunity. Both 7's were good enough to bring a GF to their respective towns.
Newcastle got 2 but one was when the best teams were in SL.

If our halves had been so quiet it would have been 6ers all round. Flanju got a 6.
Personally I thought his kicking kept them in the game, but not a great deal else was going on. A solid 6.75 for me.

I read where Flanno said he'll keep Game Day Haircut's game simple and gradually build it as the season wears on.
In that regard, he probably deserves a little slack.
But yeah, other than kicking he seemed to do SFA.

Atkinson gets a few weeks grace imo, dogs defence have made most half’s look terrible the past 12 months and on a skinny field, he was better than Galvin

Canterbury were completely underwhelming, which is why Im ticked off. Dragons had their chances but could not get it done. That’s on atk/Flange. Atk had a few muffs with the ball but I didn’t think he was all that bad. Maybe it was the beer talking. Febfast is over, so two beers glazed me.
Early season hard to gauge where each team is at, but dogs should coast through the finals and do their funny handshakes till they hopefully get bundled out.
In recent memory, I’ve not seen a team get more kudos for so little. I get its channel 9, but Danny Weidler must walk around with a constant stiffy for anything dogs related.

I thought Galvin looked the most creative of all the halves out there.

The dogs are my 2nd most hated team and Galvin up the top of the players list 2.

2 things in rugby league you can set your watch to. It's an instant penalty if Kalyn Ponga gets tackled and Stephen Crichton is allowed to do whatever he wants on the field. If Crichton were to coat-hanger Ponga they wouldn't know what to do though.
