This stage of the season is a new competition. You are fit, injury free for the most part and have found some form, it really was silly to have off your teams chances.

Well I am still not confident. Other sides seem to be more consistent. In finals you need 3 big games

On Thursday you'll know if Eels finish 4th. If do then have nothing to play for.
If Souths win tomorow and Storm next Thursday you have chance to beat Cowboys and avoid the Storm the week after.
But then in doing so Storm will take on the Sharks. Probably win and a home semi final. Then they are almost certainties for the grand final.
Maybe taking on the Storm and beating them makes it harder for them to get to the GF.
I still feel like they where the better side tonight.

Has it been confirmed that it is our NSW Cup team? I didn’t see the press conference after the game. Personally, I’m not sure Panthers charted a plane to take Kurt Falls to Townsville (with all due respect to Kurt).

I am of the opinion that you try to win the game next week, particularly if it gives you the opportunity to then impact their position and play them the week after. If we rest players those players could potentially have only a single game before a prelim on the 24th of September.

And Ivan historically hasn’t rested players in this situation.

I was one of those that wrote them off. I didn’t think they would be playing as well as they are playing now, but they have had some luck on the run in. Getting Manly on the back of the pride jersey week (that was one I had them losing) and last night they rode their luck a bit.

You need a bit of luck. Still a good effort to beat Melbourne though.
Manly were broken before the pride jersey. That finished them off. Imo.

There were a few guys carrying injuries like Kiks, Not sure a 4 hour plane trip will help him.

If NSW Cup end up in 1st place ( Which we will know this afternoon), then no point risking those guys. We can prepare earlier for the game

This is going to be a challenge especially with Lindsay Smith and Radley being sidelined. Because those chooks forwards sail very close to the wind with their play. Will hargraves manage to stay on the field with his current antics.

They are the kind of team that can get on a role.
Since we beat them they have won 7 straight. Quite a few against bums, but scalps of Cows and Storm.
I can see them beating Souths next week.
They are worth keeping an eye on.
