Losing by 2 points hurt but even worse, our lack of defense and scoring ability in the 1st half! We can beat anyone if we can get both halves the same as the 2nd today......I'm sure Dessie will drill that into the players but it hurts to get so close and yet so far away....so many positives from this arvos game though teams wont be looking at us as the easy beats...we deserved it last season conceding 40-50 points a game at the end....this year there is more than just resolve, there is a hunger to win!

Yes, our bombed opportunities was disgraceful. There were 2 in the space of a minute, and around 4 or five in the first half. We played ok in the first half I thought. 16-0 tells a different story but we did well till we got within 5 metres of the line. Sure we conceded 3 tries but these came within 20 minutes of each other and the first and last 10 of the half were good. Bulldogs scoring while they had a man off the field was dissapointing though. But great effort in the second half.

It was a commendable effort - but lets face it - both sides were very ordinary. As for "we can beat anyone", well you have gotten carried away with the moment as neither team on that form would go even close to the 8. As for "hunger to win" - 1 out of 5 speaks for itself.

  Of course you are right, but what you fail to mention is that it is much harder to win 9 from 19 than it is 3 from 20 - not to mention the fact that Manly are playing (rap and Souths are in reasonable form.

So what?

You have nothing Rastus, and your shrill whining will die down as your side sinks down the ladder, as it has without fail before. When Luke Stuart is your starting prop, you know you don't have the depth to do anythin this season...

Interesting point about Stuart, who has been going well by the way. We have Stringer, Geddes & Meredith out (all three are better than any of the Manly props by the way) and we have still managed to win two out of three, whereas your pathetic mob has basically been at full strength and won 1 from 5. Heaven help you when injuries strike - but then again the Manly defense is so weak you may well have an injury free season

Full strength? Never played with a full strength outfit all year. Atleast you'll have 4 props, most of a debateable quality this year  .

Meanwhile, Souths Attempted star recruit Dallas Rennie languishes on PL bench  .

  Remind me again who Dallas is playing with, we decided he wasn't worth it. And guess what Einstein, we were right

Wasn't worth it?
Almost went to court on a verbal agreement for him.

You've proven truly idiotic Rastus. It will be with great pleasure that I flood every Souths Forum on the net come seasons end with reminders of your glorious spoon winning...

King was picked as an emerging Origin player, and shits all over the above 3 (okay maybe Geddes gets close but, he has barely played in 2 years)

Well that's two more than Souths would take from your squad.

Harris & Menzies no, esp the money Menzies is on, they are not as good as Fletch, Ash, Mini or Smith. And then we have Manu & Fa'alaoas back-up. Same with Walker, way too much money & he is hopeless under the high ball - he is better than Watts but I'd prefer Polglase. Hicks & Donlad are going ok for you guys but then so are L McDougall & Marteene for us.

Having said that, off course you would "take them" if you could, providing we could keep those players I mentioned as well - that is just stating the obvious

I think it is hilarious that Souths have beaten Tigers and Sharks and they reckon they have some sort of GREAT team.

Getting trounced by the Eels shows that you are nothing more than a mere push over after your initial resistance!
