i must admit i feel for guys like young, cooper, hornby.
they stand for everything the big red v has to offer but im sure there thinking where do we go from here? it is a young man's game and they are struggling. unfortunately price is in a position where they cant be moved on because they are our heartbeat. we have to persist and its going to be a long 13 weeks i think for us and them. good luck lads.serve us proud.
oh and fien is in there to but he's f*&%K#@ anyway.

hornby should have taken a page out of lockyers book and retire whilst still being able to compete at the top level ...
but instead he has played on a season too long (and maybe 2 seasons if he plays next year)..

Well let's take a leaf out of Des Hasler's book, because he's not only got the Doggies going ok!, he is making the hard decisions and is hitting the player market hard. That seems what most of you want??
I've said it before, our recruting staff needs a rocket up their a$$.

Hornby, Fien and Cooper all need to be moved on they all are to slow and add nothing at this time and are only hurting their own reputation by playing on.

The Dragons as an organisation are to soft I rather see them blood young guys so they can learn even if the results may not be great at first they need to start again.

Giving Price the job at the start was a bad move it reeks of Brown all over again then the recruiting was poor thats Youngs fault and the retention of certain players is Managements fault.

Our ageing WORRIERS , do you mean us supporters or the warriors who play for our great club.

Hornby, Fien and Young for sure. Matt Cooper will still go alright if he gets decent ball and stops getting cramped.

Definitely works both ways.

Although some manage to achieve the zen of worriness well ahead of their years.

I think some worriers out there are aging much quicker than our warriors are.....

An optimist would say that seasons like this one make following the team more interesting!

I'm not planning on ending it all as some appear ready to.

Long way to go, it builds character for both players and supporters.

Your right on the money ... jobs for the boys should only hapen in third world soccer clubs.

Get a new recruitment team and a plan.

Cooper is great when he gets the ball on the run, this year he is getting the ball just standing still with 2 defenders in front of him. We never get overlaps in our back line anymore.

Not many players these days run onto the ball from deep. Most of them start about 2-3 metres back at a jog. "In my day" the forwards would hit the line at full pace and would often burst through. If only!

The big boppers just seem to run back into the area were the previous tackle was made with the tacklers still there.

Is this because they want to tire out the opposition or because, as Gus says, they just love "the collision"?

Geez... Cooper is still our most dangerous player.. even though hes not back at his best yet, its clear when he runs, plus he defends like a legend.

Cooper can stay for as long as he can stay fit, we need atleast 1 more year out of him.

Fiens selection annoys me though, im happy having him as a backup, but I want Rein & King there everytime they are fit.

Yep coops still has a lot to offer. Hopefully he starts bursting onto the ball more often.

Totally agree, Coops is not the problem. He gets very few chances in the present setup and makes bugger all mistakes. Still a quality centre.
I think the hard thing for Price with Hornby, Fein and Young, is that if he drops them he will effectively be retiring them and, given their history with the club (especially Hornby and Young) he will be reluctant to do that. Probably would not go down well with the big guy who sits with the reserves either!

He's getting good ball, but then runs across field and cramps the winger and is snookered by the touch line.

The thread title says it all... Aging warriors.
He ain't quick enough any more. Not his fault... But at some point age kicks in.
