Had two beagles for 28years. Hard. Work for the first couple of years ! This time got. A Beagleir ( cross beagle cavalier )for the past 3 years. Sooo much better ! Gets a scent but doesn’t run away for a couple of Ks. Best dog ever , we back on to a Hugh park and she never gets more than 100 metres in front and always comes back.

What a beautiful thread you have started here OT
Your dog looked a ripper mate.
Loyal to the bone.

Ours is not a dog but a cat

She loves watching the sunsets but it’s not allowing me to download that photo, saying it’s a big file. Funnily enough Rosie also loves watching the football with me.

She’s a little ripper

She’s just on 2 years old and we got her when she was 6 months old.
A client of mine was returning to Italy for good and asked if we wanted her. As soon as one of my daughters saw her that was it.

Animals are great for the soul.

Since we are playing the bunnies, here is a photo of one of my daughter's former pets. Her mother bought her two "does" but this one turned out to be a female impersonator. Pretty soon we had 6 more bunnies, and another 6 after that before he got the snip. Long gone now but provided a lot of amusement while he was around.

two yrs ago I took my dog for a walk/swim down the creek. Regular outing. He loved it. I took a video of him swimming and walking out and shaking himself off.
He got out of the yard that night and got himself run over.
I watch that little video regularly.
EEZ,

I owe you a vote of thanks.

To say I have been doing it tough all week would be the worlds biggest ever understatement.

Totally devastated and I have managed to kick all the rocks in the yard from one end to the other and back again until I have just about worn out the soles of my shoes then I remembered what you said in your post and I went looking and found a couple of videos of Patch giving some of his favourite toys a right royal thrashing.

Would get them by the head and then shake them left and right and ultimately wouldn't be happy until the heads came off the rubber ones or the stuffing started to come out of the others.

He often got to he gate with one in his mouth as other dogs walked by and he would carry on a treat showing them what he would happen if they ventured too close it was hilarious.

Did my heart a lot of good as I know your video does for you so thanks again.

Very funny OT he wanted to let the other dogs know how tough he was.. It is so good that we have the technology to video or take photos/videos with the aid of cellphones of our pets. They really are a source of entertainment.

Pet dog toys for my dog don't last long at all after he chews all the fabric off and gets to the stuffing and thrashes about with them all in good fun.

Glad I could help champion.

When mine was a puppy he always chewed up any thongs/boots/shoes left outside. But only chewed the left and never the right. I didn’t know if he was a genius or just flukey.

Very perceptive CC I do like an old beer

Hopefully one day we can have a few together over a couple of hours and talk about the things that counts and of course the 11 in a row.

Wow OT, you can down 11 in a row, I have trouble just with one!!!

As the man said "you're a greater man than I am Gungadin"

(Hope this gave you a bit of a laugh and help lighten things up a little for you)

With very heavy heart, I today lost my 'best friend'. A wonderful companion of 13 years, faithful, loyal and gave unconditional love no matter the circumstances. @Old Timer, I'm sure you can understand how this affects you.

For my girl RIP.

I am sorry for the loss of your beloved best friend it’s a heartbreaking moment when the time comes.

No doubt you will have many many wonderful memories but for the time being they alas will not fill the void only time will do that and shedding a tear will help.

Take solace from the fact that she had a wonderful life with you and that she was showered with love and attention and that’s why she was your best mate.

As my dear old dad often said

“The more i see of people the more I love my dog”

So sorry for your loss Dragonslayer. I hope that your "best friend" rests in peace and your lovely memories of her stay with you forever.

I know that I would be devastated without my adorable cavoodle George. 😢
