This one of those years that is going to see us win games easily one week and then lose unlosable games the next I think. Souths are a much better team this year and they do play that in your face style that has always been effective against us. We still havn't lost at home, so that's good. :?

For us, easily. Then saleh.

so let me see if i got this straight

our centers miss 5 and 6 tackles respectively and you term that "a disgraceful effort" and thus start a thread on it - i am cool so far

our fullback misses five tackles and you term him "best on the park"

i think your hero worship of peachey clouds your objectivity

I thought McGoldrick had a good game, I mean how many tackles did the side have to make, tired plays are going to start to miss them.

As i said in a previous post, it's the penalties that are crucifying us.. in a game these days unless you get close to 50% of the ball u are going to struggle.

Actually it is not hero worship. It is objectivity.
The centres missed 11 tackles of which 4 lead directly to tries. 24 points.
Peach missed 5 of which 3 were after he sprinted 60 metres to get to Kimmorleys kick first . Which he did on 7 occasions. But he got 1/2 stepped on 3 occasions & could not complete the tackle.
So 3 misses were actually great, inspired work.
2 of Kimmorleys 7 misses lead directly to tries. But I can't be critical ofthat either really because he read a couple really well & stopped certain tries by rushing up.

There is an old but true saying about lies, damned lies and statistics. Our centres made 41 tackles between them -- that is over 10% of the total tackles made -- dig around in your stats book and see what the percentage count for most other centre combinations is -- to get you started Lee Hoohey made 11 tackles and Luke MacDoug (man of the match) made 2. This represents a total tackle contribution of less than 5%. Another question to ask is how often do our backs get clean ball? Watch the tapes again -- you will see zero for the Souths game, 2 for the Manly game and zero for the Tigers game.

According to my stats sheet St George missed 18 in total and the centres made 26 tackles in total. Different set of numbers to your rounded off figures -- and the newcastle centres made 25 tackles in total. Next.

HHhm, unless you work for Ian Collis & you have completed a 3 pass revision on the game, then you are very wrong.
your stats are from the NRL web site, which is very wrong. & they posted the stats you are quoting at the end of game way before the game is revised by Ians crew.

The NRL web site can't even get the algorithms to work on averages etc.

The web site is also apparently being rebuilt behind the scenes because it is so farged.

Now, if you do work for Ian, how did you guys get so accurate on a 1 pass look at the game?
If you don't work forIan phhhtt.
