Why do merkins insist on repeating this untruth. Ryles wanted Galvin. He probably wants other players we can't get. Few coaches, if any, have all the players they want. Do you reckon Cleary didn't want to keep Luai and Turuva?

Are you assuming that the club will actually sign the players he wants and enable the statement, his team. As a club we haven’t signed more than 1 or 2 decent nrl players in any off season under this regime. Hope we do, but when they couldn’t nail a 5/8 whose father and player manager told him to sign with Parra, big ask.
The coach is part of the problem if players choose to sign elsewhere.

Let’s see what happens from 1 Nov when all the players coming off contract at the end of 2026 are free to negotiate. Yes it may be for 2027. That’s how the Dogs acquired most of their elite players. Tigers did it too.
Perth needs to sign 30 players for 2027 too though.

How many better players than what we lost did we end up signing the last time a new team entered the competition? This was Dolphins 2023.

Do you reckon you used this as an excuse for Kearney in the past, but instead claiming that the squad "wouldn't be his own" until year 3 in the job?

Now you're extending it to coaches never get the squad they want, so they can never be judged.... You should pursue a career apologising for perceived authority in any circumstance, it'd be a perfect fit!

I think if brown plays on Saturday at the very least he is probably supporting for a few of those line breaks in first half. Also he is leading our try assists with Iongi.

I feel like Joash needs to learn his trade in reserve grade and we just go with Hawkins and Moses as our halves combination.

Keep playing Brown then people whinge and say “if he doesn’t want to be here next year then he should be playing 2nd grade and we plan for next year”.
We do exactly that and the very same people whinge and say that they want to win an extra game or two this year so he needs to be picked. They even want to judge Ryles’ coaching ability and question his future tenure at the club over it. It’s mental.
Ryles is and will be a very good coach. It was always going to take time. We are already a much better team, arguably with lesser players. No Matto, Lane, Carty for example. We’ve only had our best player, our halfback and captain for about 5minutes this year.
The results haven’t come yet but the performances have improved greatly, just not for 80 minutes and not consistently enough. We probably won’t win in the comp in Ryles current contract but I reckon we will go very close in his next. It’s not easy but I think he is doing a good job.

The average across the NRL would be zero. When a new club comes in it cannibalises the rest of the clubs.

They should certainly be judged, but not based on any given game or even full season. You need to look at a significant sample of games. Two seasons is fewer than 50 games. It’s barely enough to judge a player let alone a coach.
