Hornby came up with an error and not a lot else. He'd have stood a better chance and been more effective starting at five eighth rather than interchanging as hooker.

Thaiday was ordinary off the bench. Not a lot of game time, he was generally dominated, and the period he was on was largely when New South Wales were getting on top up front. To top it off, he was lucky not turn over possession to Mark O'Meley with a pass that'd have made Brett Hodgson proud. You can't tell me Thaiday would be particularly fond of his performance in that game.

u gave Grothe a 8/10 and Hodgson only a 6 ???????thought hodgson was still one of nsw best considering he was 5/8 for nearly the initire game

He was one of their best, but that one play was such a vital play it takes a lot of gloss off his performance.

Grothe broke a lot of tackles in kick returns and second tackle plays and therefore was one of New South Wales' most damaging players.

Pete - possibly a tad harsh on NSW there? Our front row was very good last night, and menzies is as good as ever.

Grothe jnr was superb last night, finally got hsi chance this year to play origin and made the most of it.

I thought the Frontrow were above solid (which is 5) but you could tell they weren't as good as the backrow thus weren't worth a 7. Willie was arguable though after re-watching it as he did have a major hand in the 2nd try.

Steve Menzies didn't do anything that great from memory. Made a good tackle when he first came on but nothing exceptional. Could've counted himself unlucky not to get a 6, however I'll stick with my original opinion.

Fair call on the ratings.
The reaons in my opinion NSW lost was the lack of options in the halves. No 5the tackle options, Gower and Gasnier were lost out there and they were the reason. LAte in the second half and early in the first, NSW had ascendency but the halves did not have the ability to do anything with it.

Besides probably 3 things, Clarkey controlled the game well IMO.

The video ref had a shocker. Clarke was ok.
