Having seen in previous threads that the coach does not have the final say in team selections, you have to wonder just who is in charge of this team. That in itself, is demorilising for the team members. Those involved in team mangement should stick to just that, and stay out of the coaching of the first grade team.
Former players are fine for team management positions and should just be there for advice for the players and the coach, if need be.
With that in mind, and the current injury toll we are experiencing, I would like to see this team take the field:
1. Dugan
2. Morris
3. Runciman
4. Cooper (if fit) If not Vai Vai
5. Nightingale
6. Quinlan
7. Drinkwater
13. Merrin
12. Creagh
11. Debelin
10. Weyman
9. King
8. Seru
Bench: Hickey. Vea. Stockwell. Vidot.
We have prop rotation, we have speed in the backline and a player in Vidot that can cover both forward and backline positions. People might raise their eyebrows at Jarrod Hickey but I recall a very damaging forward when he was with the Doggies. Don't see the need to take up a position on the bench with a second hooker.
The season is gone anyway, so what do we have to lose.
Thoughts?
