That will depend on how brisbane take to the dolphins. I’m not convinced they are going to fill the brisbane gap we’ve been crying out for since the demise of the crushers. Team 20 decision won’t be for 15-20 years the way nrl goes about expansion so plenty of time to see lol

Wait, crushers filled that gap?! Just as big a failure as reds

Ideally we’d go WC Pirates next. Then Adelaide Bears, then South Brisbane Firehawks. Aim for that in next ten - 15 years.
That gives the nrl a national footprint way above and beyond afl and will see our revenue go through the roof.
When we are as rich as afl we could look to subsidising a nz2 and png team. That would be awesome if we could achieve that before I cark it!

national footprint has nothing to do with revenue

Here to pick apart ur shitty reasoning
Making a statement with no argument or facts behind it isn’t picking anything apart!
So come on troll tell us why having a national 5 capital city metro footprint won’t be worth anything, in your opinion.
In my corner is $643million reasons why it does.

The Crushers never really had much of a chance to fill that gap, given that they were killed in the "peace settlement" after just 3 years in the top flight.

From hindsight, it looks like they made some pretty big branding & recruitment mis-steps, but nothing irretrievably bad.

It's quite possible that Craig Bellamy could have gone to the Crushers to coach (and not the Storm) if the Crushers had survived into the 2000s.

Crushers we’re a genuine brisbane2 club. Based in brisbane and playing all games in brisbane. Their crowds and finances reflected that. The only failure of the crushers was that the ARL didn’t have the balls to stand up to news ltd in the 1997 cull decisions. They were exactly what we need in brisbane and what we should have finally got again with the firehawks If news ltd hasn’t once again been making decisions for the game. Nothing much changes.

Had no point of difference from broncos.

The failure was fans didn't get behind them because broncos already existed. Melbourne City before Melbourne City

Now your being disingenuous. Of course brisbane2 was more valuable. And now we’ve got it. though I might add it didn’t actually add anything to the tv deal so clearly not that much in demand! All we heard for years was hoe much ch9 would pay for another brisbane team. And guess how much they paid in the end. Yep zero, nothing, not $1!

The question now is what’s next? 5 metro reach at long last and for the first time EVER a national metro reach to close the afl gap, or not?

Haha. Still haven't proved metro reach is more valuable
